What is Skin Cancer

What is Skin Cancer

The biggest enemy of modern medicine is cancer, and this is also the disease that modern medicine wants to break through. Especially for patients in the advanced stage of cancer, doctors can only watch the pain of the patients and their families and are completely powerless to do anything. So for many people, the mention of cancer is a heavy topic. One of the more common ones is skin cancer, but most people have limited knowledge about it.

So what exactly is skin cancer? Is the incidence of skin cancer high in our country? What are the common early symptoms? What are the good treatments once you have skin cancer? I believe many people with early symptoms will ask these questions.

The incidence of skin cancer is very low in our country, but it is one of the common malignant tumors among the white race. Among skin cancers, basal cell carcinoma is the most common. The early manifestations of skin cancer are mostly erythematous skin lesions accompanied by scaly desquamation or crust formation. It is not only difficult to distinguish its histological type by naked eye observation, but it is also easily confused with benign skin diseases such as psoriasis and eczema. It often requires pathological examination to confirm the diagnosis.

It can be treated with surgery, radiotherapy, etc.

1. Surgical treatment: Suitable for all stages of skin cancer, the tumor can be completely removed surgically.

2. Lymph node dissection: Selective regional lymph node dissection after surgical resection of squamous cell carcinoma is difficult to decide. Preventive cleaning is not the most necessary option, but the best decision should be made based on the patient's age, cancer site, degree of invasiveness, and degree of differentiation of cancer cells.

3. Radiotherapy: Skin cancer, especially basal cell carcinoma, is very sensitive to radiation and moderately sensitive to squamous cell carcinoma. This method is also applicable to areas where there is or may be lymph node metastasis, as an adjuvant treatment before and after surgery.

4. Chemotherapy: It is a systemic adjuvant therapy for the treatment of skin cancer.

From the above introduction, we can understand that skin cancer is a malignant tumor and its incidence rate is not high in countries with yellow race like ours. There are many treatment methods, mainly surgical treatment, which is suitable for skin cancer patients at all stages. After learning this knowledge, patients can choose the hospital with the best reputation for treatment.
