Meniscus injury is the most common disease of the knee, which is mainly prone to occur in young and middle-aged people. It is also a common disease in life. It mainly manifests in knee pain, joint swelling, bouncing, and some atrophy and tenderness, coupled with restricted activities. It is mainly treated with some non-surgical treatments, mainly rehabilitation training and some other types of disease diagnosis. If this disease occurs, you must actively carry out reasonable prevention and health care. You should try to eat less greasy and high-fat foods, eat more vegetables and fruits, eat more whole grains, and avoid spicy and irritating foods. Therefore, safety and prevention in daily life are also very important. .Non-surgical treatment Acute tears in the peripheral blood supply area (red zone) of the meniscus are indicated for non-surgical treatment. Nonsurgical treatment is often ineffective for patients with acute injuries accompanied by chronic or recurring symptoms and those with previous signs of meniscal injury. A small, nondisplaced or incomplete tear in the vascular area can heal with appropriate treatment in the early stages of the injury. Small, stable acute tears in the vascular area observed by MRI or arthroscopy can heal within 3 to 6 weeks of plaster fixation, most of which can heal within this fixation period. Chronic tears, even in vascular areas, will not heal without surgical debridement and suture. Nonoperative treatment is not appropriate for patients with a locked knee due to a basket-handle meniscus tear. Because this tear occurs in the avascular part of the meniscus, it will not heal and must be treated surgically. However, in clinical practice, most doctors are unable to make a localized diagnosis of whether the meniscus tear is in the "red zone" or the "white zone". Therefore, even for acute tears, it is still unknown whether conservative treatment can achieve healing. But the chance to heal should not be given up. Nonsurgical treatment measures include long-leg cast immobilization for 4 to 8 weeks, allowing patients to bear weight with crutches and the cast. During cast immobilization, perform isometric exercises for the quadriceps and continue knee rehabilitation after cast removal. If symptoms recur despite non-surgical treatment, this indicates that the meniscus has not healed. The most important thing about non-surgical treatment is rehabilitation training during the treatment process to avoid atrophy of the knee joint muscles. In view of the important function of the meniscus in the knee joint and the significant impact of meniscus resection on the progression of joint degeneration, the principle of treating meniscus injuries should be to preserve normal and stable meniscus tissue as much as possible. Therefore, according to the type of meniscus injury, individualized surgical plans are adopted, including meniscus suturing, partial meniscus resection, subtotal meniscus resection and total meniscus resection. In addition, in recent years, meniscus transplantation has been carried out clinically and has achieved success in short-term follow-up. The above is the treatment method for meniscus injury, which mainly involves some rehabilitation training and some other types of disease diagnosis. It is mainly caused by trauma. In terms of diet, you should try to eat less greasy and high-fat foods, eat more vegetables and fruits, and eat more coarse grains. Spicy and irritating foods should be avoided. Rehabilitation training in daily life should also follow the doctor's instructions and help. |
