The harm of smog

The harm of smog

Car exhaust, factory waste gas, outdoor barbecues, household cooking fumes and other factors may all lead to smog! It can be said that since 2014, the smog situation has been very serious across the country, especially in Beijing. We all know that smog is caused by air pollution. If people breathe smoggy air for a long time, it will have a very big impact on the human body. This is the harm of smog.

Speaking of the hazards of haze, the most common one is that it can cause respiratory infections, leading to an increased incidence of respiratory diseases. In severe cases, it can even induce attacks of asthma and chronic bronchitis, which shows how serious the harm is. The hazards of haze are not limited to these. Its specific hazards are as follows:

Smog is more likely to cause cancer than smoking

"Haze weather is more carcinogenic than cigarettes." Zhong Nanshan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Diseases, once pointed out at a relevant forum that over the past 30 years, the smoking rate among the public in my country has continued to decline, but the incidence of lung cancer has increased by more than 4 times. This may be related to the increase in haze days.

Zhong Nanshan stressed that dense fog and extremely low visibility weather will have an impact on human health. The composition of haze is very complex, including hundreds of types of atmospheric particulate matter. Among them, the main hazards to human health are aerosol particles with a diameter of less than 10 microns, which can directly enter and adhere to the upper and lower respiratory tracts and lung lobes of the human body, causing rhinitis, bronchitis and other diseases. Long-term exposure to this environment can also induce lung cancer.

The various harmful substances in haze can also cause damage to human skin and should be given sufficient attention. In particular, when harmful substances in haze adhere to the facial skin of people with acne, they often cause various symptoms, such as facial itching, redness and swelling, increased inflammation, etc.

The above are introductions to the hazards of haze. If you want to eliminate the hazards of haze, when going out in haze weather, please be sure to wear a mask. It is best if the mask is made of cotton, which is easier to wash and less prone to allergies. In order to reduce the harm of haze, it is equally important to pay attention to personal hygiene.
