Which moles may become cancerous

Are some moles likely to become cancerous? When you find a mole on your body, do you worry about this? A Japanese website published an article on May 11 telling us that moles are indeed a type of skin lesion, but the vast majority of moles are benign pigmented lentigo, so there is no need to worry. However, if you find that the mole grows rapidly in size and darkens in color within a short period of time, and some of the pigment seeps out of the skin and shows a tendency to harden, then you must pay attention.

Types of mole cancer

1. Terminal black spot type black swelling

This type of mole often grows on the soles of the feet, palms of the hands and nails, especially on the soles of the feet.

As the symptoms worsen, the mole will harden and form pus. The mole on the nail will also extend into black stripes, which will gradually expand until the entire nail turns black. As the condition progresses, the nails will crack and melanin will seep out.

This type of mole cancer is more common in middle-aged and elderly people. If you pay attention to self-care, it is still possible to detect it early. Therefore, if you experience any adverse symptoms, please go to a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible.

2. Nodular black swelling

By the time you discover a mole lesion, the lesion is already very serious and has begun to worsen. This type of mole cancer progresses rapidly and has a high possibility of metastasis, making it the most difficult type of mole cancer. Because they can grow anywhere on the body, please be careful when a mole suddenly appears on your body.

3. Superficial expansive black swelling

At first it is just an ordinary mole, but gradually it will develop into a protrusion. Going further, the boundary between the mole and the skin becomes increasingly unclear, and the black pigment continues to expand into the surrounding skin.

This type of mole cancer can occur in a wide age range, from children to the elderly. Although the disease progresses slowly, it is not suitable for treatment. It is recommended to develop a habit of doing a full body check before bathing.

4. Malignant lentigo type black swelling

This type of mole cancer starts out as an ordinary mole and progresses slowly over several years. Therefore, even moles that have always existed should not be ignored. This type of mole often grows on the face, wrists and shoulders, and occurs more frequently in areas that are exposed to sunlight.

How to diagnose mole cancer

Sudden spread and darkening of color are suspected symptoms of malignant melanoma, but as a non-professional, it is impossible to accurately determine whether it is melanoma cancer. Therefore, if you find symptoms like these, please go to a dermatologist immediately and ask your doctor to make a comprehensive judgment based on a pathological examination.

Treatment of mole cancer

What should you do if you unfortunately suffer from mole cancer? Generally speaking, pathogen removal surgery is the most feasible method.

However, if you suffer from malignant melanoma, since it is more likely to spread to the vicinity of the affected area and the disease will recur, the treatment method generally adopts large-area skin excision rather than pathogen removal. After resection, the recovery process should be carefully observed and preventive measures should be taken.
