The harm of too soft soles

The harm of too soft soles

When people usually wear shoes, the hardness of the soles is different. Some people usually like to wear shoes with softer soles, while some people usually like to wear shoes with harder soles. In fact, the hardness of the soles depends on the purpose of wearing the shoes. For different purposes, different shoes are needed. However, when choosing shoes, try to choose comfortable shoes. What are the harms of too soft soles?

What are the dangers of having a too soft sole?

First of all, it is not conducive to the safety of the wearer:

1. Insufficient support: If the sole is too soft, the support will decrease to a certain extent.

When the wearer encounters uneven road conditions while wearing the shoes, the soles are too soft and are not sufficient to support the wearer's ankles.

2. Insufficient shock absorption: Another defect caused by the shoes being too soft is insufficient shock absorption. It is easy to increase the burden on the knees.

In addition, if the sole is too soft, the life of the sole will be reduced.

The softer the shoe, the lower the hardness of the rubber in the midsole, which makes the midsole more prone to wrinkles and cracks.

What are the dangers of children's shoes with too soft soles?

Children's feet are not smaller versions of adults'. They differ in structure and function, and will change with bone development and habitual posture. Therefore, both the shape and materials must be different from those of adults. Otherwise, it may lead to common foot problems in children, such as flat feet, hindfoot valgus, X-shaped legs and splayed feet.

Take wearing soft-soled shoes as an example. Because the soles of soft-soled shoes are flat and do not conform to the structure of the human foot, children who wear soft-soled shoes for a long time may have deformed feet and are more likely to suffer from flat feet. Flat feet cause the pressure generated when people walk to be biased inward, which can easily cause foot fatigue and pain. If medical treatment is not sought in time, it may cause symptoms such as plantar fascia strain and fasciitis in the long run, which can further cause knee pain and back pain.

Because children's bones, joints, and ligaments are in the development period, their balance and stability abilities are not strong. If the back of the shoe is too soft, the foot will not get adequate support in the shoe, causing the foot to swing from side to side, which can easily cause damage to the ankle joint and ligaments, and may also develop a bad walking posture. Therefore, the back of children's shoes should be stiff and wrap around the foot to reduce the space for the foot to move inside the shoe.

If the upper of children's shoes (especially the head) is too soft, it will be difficult to resist the impact of hard objects on the toes. In addition, some children have the habit of kicking things with their feet when walking. Too soft uppers are neither strong nor safe. However, the upper at the instep should be softer to facilitate the bending of the foot. It is best to avoid wearing leather shoes before the age of 18. The uppers of leather shoes are harder and can easily wear out the Achilles tendon of children. Children like to move around, and the poor elasticity of leather shoes is not conducive to children's exercise.

If a child's shoes wear out too quickly, parents need to pay attention. This is often not because the child's shoes are "wasted", but it means that the child's feet may have become deformed. Parents should take the child to the hospital for examination as soon as possible. If your child's shoes are worn or deformed, don't feel bad, change them immediately, because deformed shoes will also affect the normal development of the feet. When buying shoes, parents should avoid buying "big shoes" or "small shoes" and should not force their children to wear shoes that do not fit.
