Will stomach cancer cause constipation and farting?

Gastric cancer itself does not directly cause constipation and flatulence. It may cause some symptoms and complications, which indirectly lead to constipation and flatulence.

Gastric cancer patients often experience loss of appetite and indigestion, which may lead to constipation. Indigestion can cause food to stay in the intestines for too long, making the stool dry and causing constipation. During the treatment of gastric cancer, radiotherapy and chemotherapy drugs may affect intestinal function and lead to constipation.

When gastric cancer patients progress to a later stage of the disease, cachexia may occur, including weight loss, weakness and other symptoms. These symptoms will also cause the body's metabolism to slow down and the digestive and absorption functions to decline, thus causing constipation. When cachexia symptoms appear, abdominal bloating and flatulence may also accompany them.

Constipation and flatulence are common symptoms in patients with gastric cancer, but they are not directly caused by gastric cancer. In the process of preventing and treating constipation and flatulence, we should first strengthen diet conditioning, ensure adequate intake of fiber, and drink plenty of water to help promote intestinal peristalsis; secondly, we should pay attention to regular exercise to enhance the body's metabolic function and prevent the occurrence of constipation; at the same time, regular physical examinations and active treatment of symptoms of chronic diseases such as gastric cancer are also the key to preventing constipation and flatulence.

When patients with gastric cancer experience symptoms such as constipation and flatulence, they must seek medical attention in a timely manner and receive regular treatment and care. Following the doctor's advice, actively cooperating with treatment, and improving diet and lifestyle habits can help alleviate these symptoms. At the same time, gastric cancer patients and their families should maintain an optimistic and positive attitude, adjust their mentality reasonably, and improve their ability to resist disease. Only with a healthy body and a positive mentality can we better overcome the disease and welcome a better future.
