Can liver function test detect liver cancer?

Can liver function test detect liver cancer?

Liver function tests cannot determine whether there is liver cancer. Initial screening for liver cancer recommends alpha-fetoprotein and liver ultrasound examinations. Patients with hepatitis B and C virus infection or cirrhosis are at high risk for liver cancer and need to undergo liver disease physical examinations every six months. Blood tests for liver function mainly examine changes in the levels of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, γ-glutamyl transpeptidase, and alkaline phosphatase in the patient's blood. The levels of total protein, albumin, and globulin in the patient's body are also observed. Liver function tests are commonly used to help diagnose various liver diseases such as acute viral hepatitis, chronic hepatitis, and cirrhosis.

What tests are used to diagnose liver cancer?

Liver cancer is usually diagnosed by color Doppler ultrasound examination of the liver. If a tumor is found on the liver, enhanced MRI or CT is needed to further clarify the nature of the tumor. If necessary, a puncture biopsy guided by color Doppler ultrasound or CT is also needed for pathological examination. If a liver mass is found by plain scan imaging, CT can be further strengthened to confirm the diagnosis with enhanced MRI or ultrasound angiography. Liver cancer is a malignant tumor of the liver, and its incidence is relatively not optimistic.

What medicine should patients with liver cancer pain use?

Liver cancer is a common malignant tumor in my country. Pain is a common clinical manifestation of liver cancer patients. The principles of drug treatment for liver cancer pain are as follows: Non-narcotic analgesics can be considered for mild liver cancer pain. Commonly used clinical drugs include acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and indomethacin suppositories. Opioids, such as morphine or oxycodone, are reliable analgesics, but they have obvious adverse reactions such as constipation, nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. Many patients cannot tolerate their side effects. If pain occurs, oral analgesics are recommended.
