What are the nursing measures and diagnosis of laryngeal cancer

Nursing measures for laryngeal cancer mainly include dietary care, psychological care, oral care, heart rate monitoring, respiratory care, etc. Its diagnosis is usually based on reliable methods such as laryngoscopy, imaging examination, and pathological biopsy.

1. Diet care: Malnutrition can weaken the patient's tolerance and responsiveness to tumor treatment, affect wound healing, increase postoperative complications, and affect surgical results. Patients should be encouraged to eat more high-protein, high-calorie, high-vitamin diets, sit or semi-recumbent when eating, and preferably eat soft food.

2. Psychological care: Patiently comfort the patient, explain the different personalities, ages and psychological characteristics of the patients, explain the disease knowledge and the importance of surgery as well as the dangers of not receiving timely treatment.

3. Oral care: Keeping the oral cavity clean is an important part of reducing postoperative infection and preventing pharyngeal fistula. Tell patients to pay attention to oral hygiene, rinse their mouths and brush their teeth after meals, and tell them to go to the stomatology department or do oral dental treatment for caries.

4. Heart rate monitoring: There are many middle-aged and elderly patients, often with diabetes, hypertension or coronary atherosclerotic heart disease. Emotional fluctuations and tension can further increase blood sugar and blood pressure, accelerate heart rate, and cooperate with doctors to take necessary treatment measures.

5. Respiratory care: Patients with advanced laryngeal cancer may have varying degrees of dyspnea, especially after laryngoscopy and biopsy, which may aggravate dyspnea or even suffocation. These patients should be examined more frequently, told to stay in bed, move less, inhale oxygen when necessary, and be prepared to cut off the trachea.

Although laryngeal cancer is a serious disease, patients can actively seek treatment, adjust their lifestyle habits, improve their physical fitness, effectively avoid the sustainable development of the disease, and improve their survival period.
