How long can patients with early and middle stage nasopharyngeal cancer live and how to provide care

Once people are diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer, they think they will soon lose confidence in treatment. So, how long can early and mid-stage nasopharyngeal cancer live? How to care?

How long can a person with nasopharyngeal cancer live in the early and middle stages? It varies from person to person and cannot be generalized. If nasopharyngeal cancer patients can undergo early detection and standardized treatment, coupled with a good attitude and rehabilitation care, the early treatment rate of nasopharyngeal cancer can be as high as 90%. More than 90% of nasopharyngeal cancer patients can be completely cured through radiotherapy and comprehensive treatment. If it develops to the middle stage, the cure rate will decrease accordingly. Therefore, the prevention and treatment of nasopharyngeal cancer lies in early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment.

The nursing measures after the recovery of nasopharyngeal carcinoma are generally as follows:

1. Rinse your mouth with light salt water to keep your mouth clean; brush your teeth with a soft toothbrush until the oral mucosa returns to normal.

2. Pay attention to protecting the radioactive skin. Underwear should be soft, wide and moisture-absorbent. Avoid wiping the skin with soap and rough towels. Avoid hot and cold stimulation. Do not use hot water bottles or hot compresses locally. Wear a hat when going out in summer to prevent direct sunlight. Wear a hat when going out to protect the radioactive skin from sunlight. Do not use cosmetics, irritating ointments, soapy water or irritating bath gel until the radioactive skin returns to normal.

3. To prevent stiffness and dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint, you should persist in opening your mouth more than 100 times every day.

4. High-protein, high-vitamin, easily digestible diet, such as lean meat, eggs, fish, vegetables, and fruits, and avoid spicy and irritating foods.
