Reasons for high uric acid in kidney function

Our kidneys are very important to us. If our kidney function is damaged, our urinary system will be seriously disturbed. In severe cases, if the kidneys fail, our body's metabolism will be seriously affected. Generally, when checking kidney function, a uric acid value is involved, and 80% of people are prone to high uric acid. So what is the reason for high uric acid in kidney function?

Once uric acid metabolism becomes abnormal, when the uric acid level in the human body reaches a certain level and the blood cannot completely dissolve it, uric acid will precipitate in various parts of the human body and then settle down and refuse to leave. The most common location for this deposition is our joints, which is why gout patients often experience swollen and painful joints. In addition, the kidneys are also where uric acid likes to accumulate and deposit.

Therefore, gout can often lead to urate nephropathy. Uric acid deposits in the kidneys can directly cause tubular occlusion and renal cell necrosis and induce renal inflammatory response, causing damage to the kidneys, leading to renal interstitial inflammation and fibrosis, and eventually develop into renal atrophy and renal failure.

Doctors say: To protect the kidneys and lower uric acid, these three methods are the first choice. If you do them, uric acid will return to normal and kidney function will also improve.

1. Drink plenty of water and pay attention to your diet

In addition to drug treatment, for patients with hyperuricemia with normal heart and kidney function, it is recommended to drink 2500~3000 ml of water per day to dilute the uric acid concentration and promote uric acid excretion. Drinking more water is also the best way to protect your kidneys. Drinking enough water can increase urine volume and help the kidneys better excrete metabolites from the body.

At the same time, you should also control your diet and focus on low-purine foods; quit smoking and drinking, limit the intake of high-purine foods such as seafood, animal offal, beef, mutton, mushrooms, lettuce, soy products, etc., and do not drink traditional Chinese soup often.

2. Chinese medicine diet therapy - chicory gardenia tea

Chinese medicine diet therapy is unique in preventing diseases. There is a dietary recipe that is still used today to lower uric acid and protect the kidneys: chicory and gardenia tea. It is mainly derived from Qianjin Fang by adding and subtracting: "10 grams each of chicory and gardenia, 5 grams each of kudzu root, lily, mulberry leaf, dandelion, Euryale ferox and sea buckthorn, boiled in water and taken three times a day, which has the effect of dissolving stones, reducing acid and protecting kidneys. It has been used till now, and its efficacy has been recognized and praised by modern medicine.

You can gather these ingredients together yourself and brew them in certain proportions to make tea. If you don’t want the hassle, you can also directly use tea bags with the same recipe. Small tea bags are simple and convenient to brew, and the ground ingredients are more conducive to the body’s absorption.
