How is cervical cancer staged?

Cervical cancer is usually staged based on the depth of tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis, and distant organ metastasis.

Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor that originates in the cervix and can be divided into four stages according to the depth of tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis, and distant organ metastasis. The first stage is that cervical cancer is limited to the inside of the cervix and does not invade the cervical wall or spread to the uterine body. The second stage is that cervical cancer spreads to the cervical wall but not to the pelvic wall or lower vagina. The third stage is that cervical cancer spreads to the pelvic wall and lower vagina. The fourth stage is that cervical cancer has spread to distant organs such as the lungs, liver, or bones. The installment of cervical cancer is very important for formulating a reasonable treatment plan and predicting prognosis, so a comprehensive evaluation is usually required in combination with various examination methods.

After confirming cervical cancer, active treatment is required. Radiotherapy can be performed to kill or inhibit the growth of cancer cells with high-energy rays. Chemotherapy can also be performed. Commonly used chemotherapy drugs in clinical practice include paclitaxel injection, fluorouracil injection, and nedaplatin injection. Patients with conditions can also consider targeted drug therapy, such as bevacizumab injection, apatinib mesylate tablets, and anlotinib hydrochloride capsules. Surgical treatments such as cervical conization, total hysterectomy, and radical hysterectomy can also be performed.

Patients should have a regular schedule in their lives, maintain a comfortable mood, and exercise appropriately, which will be beneficial to their physical recovery.
