What to do if bone age is too high

What to do if bone age is too high

It is a common disease that children have an advanced bone age, which indicates that children have a tendency to mature early. The reason for the advanced bone age is generally closely related to the sex hormones secreted by the pituitary gland. If a child is diagnosed, he must be checked in time, because an advanced bone age is not a good phenomenon for children. So what should children do if their bone age is advanced?

1. Drug treatment

If a child's bone age is relatively old, treatment should be targeted at the cause after a doctor's examination and diagnosis. For advanced bone age caused by precocious puberty, drugs can be used to inhibit the secretion of gonadotropin by the hypothalamus-pituitary gland to prevent premature healing of the epiphysis. For advanced bone age caused by adrenal or thyroid diseases, appropriate hormone treatment should be carried out.

2. Adjust your eating habits

Most children with older bone ages have poor eating habits. Parents should pay attention to adjusting:

1. Control your diet appropriately. Avoid overnutrition, especially avoid fatty foods and eat less sweets, so as to prevent excessive calories from being converted into excess fat in children's bodies, causing endocrine disorders and leading to premature bone development.

2. Avoid abusing supplements. Parents should not give their children nutritional supplements and health products containing sex hormones, and should eat less tonic foods such as ginseng, cordyceps, astragalus, royal jelly, protein powder, etc.

3. Eat less out-of-season vegetables and fruits, and avoid eating too much early-maturing animals and poultry, especially poultry necks.

3. Increase physical activity

Children with older bone age need to maintain normal bone growth through exercise. Try to let your children choose easy, lively, free-stretching and open activities, such as swimming, dancing, high jump, basketball, badminton, horizontal bar, skipping rope, etc. It is effective to maintain at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise every day.

4. Go to bed before 10pm

Adequate and good sleep is the basis for ensuring the normal secretion of growth hormone. Studies have shown that the peak secretion of growth hormone in the human body occurs after 10 o'clock in the evening and lasts for a long time. Children with older bone age must go to bed before 10 o'clock in the evening to facilitate normal growth.
