To check whether a mole is melanoma, visual examination, dermoscopy, CT, magnetic resonance imaging, and biopsy are usually required.

1. Visual examination: It refers to directly observing the lesion site with the naked eye, judging the nature based on the range, size, etc., and can roughly determine whether it is melanoma.

2. Dermatoscope: This instrument can magnify the affected area several to dozens of times, and more accurately observe the appearance of the lesion and whether there is infection, ulcer, exudation, etc., thereby assisting in determining the nature of the lesion.

3. CT: CT can show the range and size of skin and subcutaneous lesions, and assess whether it has invaded surrounding tissues and the severity, and whether it is melanoma.

4. Magnetic resonance imaging: The significance of the examination is similar to that of CT, but it is more accurate and non-radioactive, causing less damage to the human body, but with higher diagnostic accuracy.

5. Biopsy: It is an important basis for diagnosing whether a mole is melanoma. Taking a small amount of tissue for pathological testing can usually directly determine the nature.

A diagnosis can also be made by postoperative pathological examination. Specific examination items must be carried out according to the doctor's instructions.
