Is the TG value of hemisection of thyroid cancer of reference significance?

Is the TG value of hemisection of thyroid cancer of reference significance?

The TSH value after hemisection of thyroid cancer is of reference significance. Hemisection of thyroid cancer means that after most of the thyroid gland is removed for thyroid cancer, the remaining thyroid tissue is treated with iodine-131 again. The change of TSH value after hemisection of thyroid cancer can assist in judging the risk of recurrence of thyroid cancer after surgery.

1. Low risk: The TSH value in the thyroid tissue after surgery should return to the normal range. If the TSH value continues to increase after surgery, it indicates that the patient has tumor cell growth and may have tumor recurrence, and should be closely followed up;

2. Medium risk: The TSH value in the thyroid tissue after surgery should gradually return to the normal range. If the patient is a low-risk patient after surgery, the risk of recurrence is relatively high. Thyroid hormone suppression therapy is recommended to reduce the risk of recurrence.

3. High risk: If the patient is at high risk after surgery, the risk of recurrence is relatively high. It is recommended to undergo thyroid hormone suppression therapy and take medication for life to reduce the risk of tumor recurrence;

4. Extremely low risk: If the patient is a low-risk patient after surgery and has a good immune system function, the risk of postoperative recurrence is relatively low.

Patients who have undergone hemisection of thyroid cancer also need to regularly monitor thyroglobulin, calcitonin and other indicators, and decide on subsequent diagnosis and treatment based on the results of the review. At the same time, patients should maintain a good attitude, actively cooperate with doctors for corresponding treatment, and have regular review. Family members should also give patients care and encouragement to keep them optimistic, which is also conducive to recovery.
