Lung cancer reexamination results, what follow-up treatment is needed

If lung cancer patients have recurrence or metastasis after reexamination, they need to receive adjuvant treatments such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy. If there is no recurrence or metastasis, no special treatment is required.

1. Need for follow-up treatment

1. Radiotherapy: Radiotherapy is a local treatment method that uses radiation to treat tumors. Its treatment principle is to use high-energy rays to irradiate cancer cells, thereby inhibiting the growth and reproduction of cancer cells, and ultimately achieving the purpose of killing cancer cells. For patients with advanced small cell lung cancer, radiotherapy can relieve the patient's symptoms and prolong the patient's survival.

2. Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy refers to the use of chemical drugs to kill cancer cells or prevent their growth. Commonly used chemotherapy drugs include cisplatin injection, paclitaxel injection, etc. For patients with early non-small cell lung cancer, the disease can be controlled after chemotherapy.

2. No follow-up treatment is required

If no recurrence or metastasis is found during the follow-up examination, and no discomfort is reported, special treatment is generally not required. However, you should go to the hospital regularly for relevant examinations to understand the progress of the disease.

Patients are advised to maintain a good attitude, avoid excessive stress, pay attention to a healthy diet, and eat foods rich in high-quality protein such as eggs, milk, etc., which will help enhance immunity.
