Diet and lifestyle guidance for prostate cancer patients

Diet: It is recommended to eat a variety of vegetables, including cooked tomatoes, but it is not recommended to take lycopene tablets. It is recommended to eat cruciferous vegetables such as cauliflower once a day if possible. Avoid processed meat products. It is recommended to eat fish at least 2 times a week. It is recommended to eat healthy vegetable fats rich in saturated fatty acids, such as olive oil and nuts. Avoid eating processed poultry products, and if eaten, it is recommended to remove the skin. Avoid lecithin substitutes, get enough calcium from low-fat dairy products, vegetables and fortified whole-grain oats or soy/nut milk, avoid high-fat dairy products and simple calcium supplements. Except for regular multivitamins, single nutrient supplements are not recommended.

Get as much exercise as possible and get it to a level that is vigorous. Vigorous exercise means pushing yourself to the limit, getting your heart rate up, and making you sweat. If you walk, walk as fast as you can and increase your jogging. These activities include running, swimming fast, or biking fast. If possible, try to get at least 30 minutes of vigorous exercise every day. Achieve and maintain a healthy weight through a healthy diet and regular exercise. Don't smoke.

If you have diabetes, metformin should be the first choice. People with metabolic syndrome or prediabetes can also consider using metformin. Patients with hyperlipidemia are not recommended to use statins, but can receive metformin treatment. If you take aspirin, you need to balance the risks and benefits, and you need a doctor to help evaluate the interaction with other drugs.
