How to take good care of liver cancer patients? Pay attention to these 3 points in liver cancer care

During the treatment of liver cancer, nursing care cannot be ignored. Liver cancer is very harmful and will not only affect the patient's health, but also endanger his life. There are many treatments for liver cancer. During the treatment, family members must do a good job of nursing the patient and actively cooperate with the doctor.

1. Liver cancer rehabilitation care. Medical staff and the patient's family should closely observe the patient's state of consciousness, whether there is mental confusion, whether the patient's self-care ability is reduced, whether the patient's personality and behavior are abnormal, and whether the patient should not eat a high-protein diet. Instead, the patient should be given carbohydrate-based food to ensure the balance of water, electrolytes and other nutrients. The patient should rest in bed and avoid strenuous exercise. The patient should be given intermittent oxygen for 3-4 days after surgery to protect liver cells.

2. Diet care for liver cancer. Diet for liver cancer is a key point in our nursing work. Liver cancer patients are generally fasting for three days after surgery. After the patient's intestinal peristalsis recovers, they should be given a full, half, and normal diet, slowly, in a gradual process. Nutritional support should be given to patients who have decreased liver function, loss of appetite, and poor nutritional status due to the disease. When the patient can eat, guide the patient to choose some high-calorie, moderate high-quality protein, high-vitamin, low-fat, low-sodium, and easily digestible food. The basic principle is to eat small meals frequently, avoid raw, cold, and hard foods, and measure the patient's weight regularly to understand the nutritional status.

3. Respiratory care for liver cancer patients. Because liver cancer surgery causes great trauma, the patient's diaphragm is elevated and respiratory movement is limited. If the patient has symptoms such as coughing and difficulty expectorating, nebulization inhalation can be given. After each nebulization inhalation, the patient should be turned over in time, tapped on the back, and instructed to press the incision with both hands and take a deep breath and cough. Encourage the patient to cough up the phlegm.

Although general treatment methods are more effective, to ensure faster control of the disease, everyone must go to a regular hospital. At the same time, we should also do a good job of nursing in life to effectively control the disease and prevent liver cancer from endangering our health and life.
