4. Instruct patients to train with the pulmonary function expander. Each patient in this group is equipped with a pulmonary function expansion trainer. There are scales on the trainer to show the amount of air inhaled, which can easily arouse the interest of patients. Instruct patients to take a deep breath in a sitting or semi-recumbent position, then put the mouthpiece connected to the pulmonary function expander in their mouth to make the maximum inhalation. Do this once a day in the morning and once in the evening, starting one week before surgery, pausing on the day of surgery, and continuing on the third day after surgery. The number of times can be done according to one's ability. Explain to patients that preoperative exercise with the pulmonary function expansion trainer can increase the patient's vital capacity and maximum ventilation, thereby improving lung function.
