Can I get vaccinated to prevent liver cancer? Here are some ways to prevent liver cancer

What is the most effective way to prevent liver cancer? To prevent liver cancer, you must first avoid hepatitis. If you are susceptible to hepatitis, you can prevent it by getting a hepatitis vaccine. At the same time, what other methods can be used to prevent liver cancer? Let's learn about it below.

How to prevent liver cancer

Prevent hepatitis. Using hepatitis vaccines to prevent hepatitis and thus liver cancer has become one of the most promising ways to prevent liver cancer, but it is estimated that it will take decades to see results. It has been proven that hepatitis B vaccines are effective in preventing hepatitis. However, from a comprehensive perspective, prevention of HCV and HDV still needs to be considered. In addition to injecting hepatitis B vaccines, prevention of viral hepatitis also requires attention to the control of other transmission routes, such as diet, surgery, blood transfusion, injection, acupuncture and hairdressing.

Do not eat too much salty and spicy food, and do not eat overheated, overcold, expired or spoiled food; the elderly and weak or those with a genetic disease should eat some anti-cancer food as appropriate and maintain a good mental state. This is also a preventive measure for liver cancer.

Manage water sources. That is, improve water sources, use deep well water and tap water, disinfect drinking water, and prevent drinking water pollution.

Proper selenium supplementation: For people with low selenium levels, selenium-enriched yeast, selenium polysaccharides, and selenium-enriched salts can be used to supplement selenium and increase blood selenium levels.

Prevent viral infection. Don't take medicine randomly. The incidence of liver cancer in patients with chronic hepatitis is 100 times higher than that of normal people. To prevent liver cancer, ordinary people must first prevent infection with hepatitis B and hepatitis C viruses.

Quit drinking. Drink less or no alcohol. Controlling alcohol consumption is especially important for hepatitis B virus carriers, hepatitis and cirrhosis patients. The enzymes in a normal liver can oxidize a certain amount of ethanol into water and carbon dioxide, which has a certain degree of detoxification effect on ethanol. However, once the liver is infected with hepatitis B virus or suffers from hepatitis or cirrhosis, the liver function is damaged. A very small amount of ethanol can cause serious damage to liver cells. One drunkenness is equivalent to an acute mild hepatitis. Over time, it will cause liver cirrhosis and eventually cancer.

So, what are the methods for diagnosing liver cancer?

How to diagnose liver cancer

Alpha-fetoprotein measurement. This diagnostic method uses an immune method to measure the production of embryonic antigens. It is currently one of the most effective methods for diagnosing this disease. If no other evidence of liver cancer is found, the positive α-Fp countercurrent immunoelectrophoresis method is greater than 500ng/ml and lasts for more than one month, active liver cancer and pregnancy are excluded, and gonadal embryonic tumors are excluded, liver cancer can be diagnosed.

Liver ultrasound examination. This is a non-invasive examination that is simple to operate, intuitive and convenient, accurate and non-invasive, low-cost, widely available, and does no harm to human tissue. It can be used for liver cancer screening and follow-up after treatment.

Blood enzyme examination: The serum γ-glutamyl transpeptidase level of patients with this disease is higher than that of normal people. The lactate dehydrogenase isoenzyme and alkaline phosphatase are also higher than those of normal people. However, this diagnosis lacks specificity and is therefore only used as an auxiliary diagnosis.

CT examination. Abdominal enhanced CT scan can clearly show the size, shape, number, location, boundary, tumor blood supply and relationship with the intrahepatic ducts of liver cancer, which is of great significance for further clarifying the diagnosis and distinguishing it from other benign liver space-occupying lesions, clarifying the staging and grading of liver cancer, guiding treatment and judging prognosis.
