Who are the people who need to prevent cervical cancer? What should you pay attention to in order to prevent cervical cancer

Ms. Weng is 60 years old and has been in menopause for 10 years. She usually has no discomfort symptoms. Recently, the community organized a physical examination. The physical examination report suggested: small uterine fibroids, it is recommended to go to the hospital for treatment. Therefore, she came to the gynecology clinic of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for consultation. After reading the physical examination report, the doctor conducted a gynecological examination. She found that the cervix was prone to bleeding after contact. It was recommended to conduct a high-risk cervical papillomavirus test (HPV), and after the examination, it was found that the pathology was confirmed to be cervical squamous cell carcinoma.

According to experts, more than 200,000 women die from cervical cancer every year worldwide, and cervical cancer has become the third largest malignant tumor after breast cancer and colorectal cancer.

In the past, cervical cancer was more common in women around 50 years old, so patients under 35 years old were medically called "young cervical cancer patients." Today, this "young" standard is no longer young. Experts have found in clinical practice that the number of young women in their 20s or 30s suffering from cervical cancer has increased significantly, and a considerable number of patients have mid-to-late stage cervical cancer when initially diagnosed.

Which women should be screened for cervical cancer?

First, women start having sex very early. For example, some women start having sex in their teens. At that time, her cervical epithelium is immature, and the immature HPV defense ability is poor.

The second is women with many sexual partners. If there are many female partners, the risk of HPV infection is very high. On the other hand, if a sexual partner has multiple female partners at the same time, it will cause HPV infection. Even if the use of condoms can reduce the infection rate, it cannot completely prevent infection.

The third is multiple births or multiple abortions, because births and abortions can cause trauma to the cervical epithelium and reduce the ability to defend against HPV.

How to avoid cervical cancer?

1. Regular physical examinations, especially gynecological examinations, are an effective way to prevent cancers such as cervical cancer.

Among 50% of married women, 50% to 60% have varying degrees of vaginitis and cervicitis, so timely diagnosis and treatment are needed. Women with cervicitis are 7 times more likely to develop cervical cancer than normal people. In fact, if cervical cancer can be detected in the early stage, the treatment effect is still very good.

Safe and hygienic sex life is the protector of cervical cancer for women.

If the sex life is indulgent, or minors start sex life, the probability of cervical erosion will inevitably increase. Unclean sex life can cause pathogens to enter the uterine cavity through the vagina and cause endometrial infection.

3. Prevent viral infection.

There are many deep-seated reasons for the occurrence of cervical cancer, but current research can confirm that cervical cancer is caused by herpes virus and human papillomavirus (HPV). 80% of patients have herpes Ⅱ infection virus.

4. Marry late, have children late, and have fewer children.

Generally speaking, the incidence of cervical cancer mainly occurs in married women. As the number of pregnancies increases, the incidence of cervical cancer increases. Women who give birth to more than 7 children are 1~2 times more likely to have cervical cancer than women who give birth to 7 children.

Live a reasonable lifestyle and avoid smoking.

An unhealthy lifestyle is also a factor in the infection and development of cervical cancer. The incidence of cervical cancer in smokers and ex-smokers is 1.7% and 0.7% higher than that in women who have never smoked, respectively. The more smokers you have, the higher the incidence.
