Is interventional treatment effective for liver cancer? Pay attention to these

The effect of interventional treatment for liver cancer depends on whether the lesion is rich in blood supply and the size of the lesion. If the lesion is small and rich in blood supply, the interventional effect will be very good. Very few liver cancers will be necrotic, and a second or third interventional treatment can achieve ideal results. For patients who do not have rich blood supply liver cancer, the effect of interventional treatment is not good. Other treatment methods can be chosen, such as radiotherapy, targeted drugs, etc. Interventional treatment for liver cancer is simple, easy to operate, safe and reliable; the effect is definite, and those who are successfully treated can see a rapid decrease in AFP, a reduction in the mass, and a reduction in pain; the diagnostic angiography is clear, can be repeated, and is convenient for multiple comparisons.

At the same time, interventional treatment of liver cancer is a regional local chemotherapy method that injects anti-cancer drugs or embolic agents into the hepatic artery through femoral artery catheterization, thereby achieving the effect of "starving" or "poisoning" the tumor. In other words, interventional treatment of liver cancer can effectively kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. It is the most effective and lowest-cost treatment for liver cancer at present.
In fact, the method of interventional treatment is to use a microcatheter to directly inject several chemotherapy drugs into the blood supply artery of the tumor. The local drug concentration in the tumor is more than 100 times higher than that of intravenous systemic chemotherapy, and the effect of killing cancer cells can be increased by more than 10 times, so the efficacy is significantly improved; because it is a local medication, the systemic toxicity and side effects of the drug are small and short-term, the digestive tract reaction is mild, and there is rarely hair loss, liver and kidney damage and leukopenia; at the same time, embolic agents can be injected into the blood supply artery of the tumor through the microcatheter to block the blood supply of the tumor, causing tumor cells to die of ischemia and hypoxia, which is also called "starvation therapy". In addition, interventional treatment is still not a completely harmless treatment method. Taking ginsenoside Rh2 (life-protecting agent), a rare ginsenoside of ginseng, during treatment can effectively reduce the side effects of treatment, such as nausea, poor appetite, pain, etc., and at the same time, it can minimize the possibility of cancer cell proliferation and spread.
