Treatment of large area burn scars

Treatment of large area burn scars

Everyone should be very careful in life and avoid getting burned, because burns will not only cause people to feel very painful, but also leave burn scars on the surface of the skin after the burns heal, and burn scars are very ugly. Especially when a large area of burn scars is left due to burns, a person's self-confidence will be seriously affected. So what are the treatments for large area burn scars?

1. Method 1: There are many non-surgical methods for treating burn scars, including cryotherapy, pressure therapy, physical therapy, radiotherapy, laser therapy, and drug therapy, etc. These methods are selected based on the specific conditions of the patient's scars. For example, pressure therapy is best used during scar formation and can effectively prevent scar proliferation. The most common method is to use scar stickers and medical elastic sleeves to apply pressure to promote scar recovery.

2. Method 2: Choose to go to the hospital for treatment of burn scars, and go to the hospital in time for the doctor to clean, disinfect, suture or bandage the wound. Generally speaking, some people who have been scalded will have doubts about cleaning the wound, thinking that cleaning the wound will delay the best treatment time. In fact, cleaning the wound carefully is the most basic step to avoid scars and promote wound healing.

3. Method three: For severe burn scars, surgical treatment is generally the treatment method. To treat this type of burn scar, you can choose scar excision, fractionated excision, skin grafting, skin grinding, tissue expansion and microsurgery techniques, etc. Especially for large-area burns, tissue expansion or surgical transplantation is generally used to treat scars. For more serious burn scars on the joints, where adhesions have occurred and caused functional impairment, skin transplantation combined with traction technology can be used for treatment.

Note:

The treatment method for large-area burn scars can be carried out as described above. It should be noted that after large-area burns, the patient must protect the burned area to prevent bacterial invasion.
