Standardized treatment after thyroid cancer surgery

Standardized treatment after thyroid cancer surgery

We all may know some diseases that are difficult to treat, such as thyroid cancer. Because this type of disease is difficult to control, once it cannot be controlled, it will cause irreparable damage to the patient's body. So what are the standardized treatments for thyroid cancer after surgery?

1. Surgical treatment and postoperative drug treatment

The purpose of surgery is to remove cancerous tissue and the cervical lymph nodes that may have metastasized. The surgical method to remove cancerous tissue is generally to remove all or most of the thyroid gland. The postoperative treatment of thyroid cancer is thyroid hormone therapy. If the thyroid gland is completely or mostly removed, thyroid hormone therapy must be used to maintain the normal function of the thyroid gland.

2. Neck radiation therapy

Among the methods of treating thyroid cancer, neck radiotherapy is a relatively common method. For patients with incomplete resection, neck thyroid radiotherapy and lymph node radiotherapy can generally be added. This is also a relatively common method because most patients with thyroid cancer have incomplete surgical resection.

3. Anticancer drug treatment

Anticancer drug treatment is not very effective for most patients and is rarely used now. Anticancer drug treatment may be effective for a small number of patients with thyroid cancer, but due to the high toxicity and great harm to the body, many patients do not use this method.

Warm reminder: We all know about these treatment plans, don't ignore the treatment measures. We can also treat it through other treatment methods. Choose a method that suits you, which will help the recovery of the disease. If you are not sure enough, you should check first and then treat it.
