What is the peak age for gastric cancer

Nowadays, there are many people around us who are patients with gastric cancer. Everyone knows that this is a disease with a very high incidence rate, especially for white-collar workers. Gastric cancer is not unfamiliar. This is not only related to our own physique, but also has a great relationship with our daily eating habits. So what is the high incidence age of gastric cancer? Let's find out together below.

According to relevant data, my country is a high-incidence area for gastric cancer, ranking second in the world. According to an expert from the Oncology Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, as one of the most common malignant tumors in my country, gastric cancer is highly hidden in the early stages, and about 70% of patients are diagnosed in the middle and late stages.

The prevention and treatment of gastric cancer in our country is not optimistic. The incidence population is wide, and most of them are already in the middle and late stages when they are discovered. Therefore, early detection of gastric cancer becomes an important factor in the treatment effect. However, since the early symptoms of gastric cancer are not obvious, early or locally advanced gastric cancer often has no obvious signs. Common symptoms include upper abdominal discomfort or pain; loss of appetite, weight loss, fatigue; weight loss; difficulty swallowing, nausea, vomiting, vomiting blood or black stools, and some can cause diarrhea, constipation, and fever. If these symptoms are present, it is not enough to diagnose gastric cancer. For example, chronic gastritis sometimes has these symptoms. If you want to confirm the diagnosis, it is best to do a gastroscopy. The gastroscopy can clearly see the situation in the stomach and can confirm gastric cancer.

If gastric cancer patients test positive for human epidermal growth factor receptor-2, combined chemotherapy will prolong survival longer than traditional treatments. There is a lack of effective treatments for mid- and late-stage gastric cancer, and the overall treatment effect of gastric cancer is still not ideal. In the past, patients with advanced gastric cancer had lost the opportunity for surgery and could only rely on chemotherapy alone, with limited treatment effects. Unfortunately, among gastric cancer patients, about 16% to 19% of patients are HER2-positive, which means that about 84% of gastric cancer patients still have less than ideal prognosis for treatment.

Most diseases are difficult to treat and hard to cure. The reason is that patients miss the best time for treatment. For friends with gastric cancer, early diagnosis and treatment is very important. If you want to cure the disease, you must know the best time for treatment so that you can control the deterioration of the disease in a short time.
