What oral chemotherapy drugs are there for brain cancer

What oral chemotherapy drugs are there for brain cancer? Chemotherapy for brain cancer is usually considered for gliomas and brain metastases. Chemotherapy is generally not used for benign brain tumors. The following introduces 4 types of chemotherapy drugs commonly used in clinical brain tumors. Let's take a look at the introduction below.

1. Doxorubicin (ADM)
It has a broad anti-tumor spectrum and can inhibit the synthesis of deoxyribonucleic acid and ribonucleic acid. However, due to its severe bone marrow toxicity and the failure to confirm its efficacy in the clinical treatment of malignant brain tumors, it has not been widely used.
The dosage for adults is 45 mg/m2 per day, intravenously. It is usually used on the first day of serialization when used in combination with teniposide and chloroethylcyclohexyl nitrosourea.
2. Teniposide (VM26)
It has a broad anti-tumor spectrum, is highly lipid-soluble, can pass the blood-brain barrier, and has low toxicity. However, it may cause hypotension, so it is advisable to monitor blood pressure during intravenous infusion. The usual dose for adults is 120 mg to 200 mg/m2 per day, for 2 to 6 consecutive days, with an interval of 6 weeks.
Teniposide-lomustine sequence therapy is commonly used in combined chemotherapy, with each course of treatment lasting 4 days: on the 1st and 2nd days, teniposide 100 mg/day is added to 250 ml of 10% glucose solution and dripped intravenously for 1.5 to 2 hours; on the 3rd and 4th days, lomustine 80 mg is taken orally every day.
