Is colonoscopy enough to prevent colorectal cancer?

In life, we are often shocked, surprised, regretful and sad when we learn that someone we know is diagnosed with advanced cancer. Among them, colorectal cancer is a type of cancer with hidden early symptoms. It is easy to be confused with many diseases, especially hemorrhoids. It is easy to mistake bleeding from colorectal cancer for bleeding from hemorrhoids until the advanced stage of colorectal cancer. Is colonoscopy enough to prevent colorectal cancer?

Relevant experts have suggested that colonoscopy is not enough to prevent colorectal cancer. So, how to check and prevent colorectal cancer? How to check and prevent colorectal cancer early? This requires us to raise awareness of the prevention and treatment of intestinal diseases and achieve early diagnosis and treatment.

Among intestinal cancers, colorectal cancer is the most common. There are many factors that lead to colorectal cancer, and the most important factor is diet. The internationally recognized dietary factor for colorectal cancer is long-term avoidance of refined foods. Nowadays, we like to process rice and flour finely, but we don’t know that eating more refined foods and meat and less fiber will lead to intestinal disorders. You should know that fiber is a very important element in preventing colorectal cancer. Fruits and vegetables contain cellulose, and wheat bran contains cellulose, so it is better to eat more of these things in your daily diet. In fact, colorectal cancer is a disease of the rich. Everyone thinks that life is rich and they can’t eat coarse grains like in the old days. They don’t know that eating more refined food is also more likely to increase the incidence of colorectal cancer.

In addition, 30% of colorectal cancers tend to cluster in families. There are two reasons for this tendency. One is genetic susceptibility, which means that if the previous generation gets colorectal cancer, the next generation will also have a tendency to get colorectal cancer, but it does not mean that they will definitely get colorectal cancer. They just have a susceptibility. Generally, people may need to be affected by external factors to a certain extent to get colorectal cancer. They may get colorectal cancer with less than half or a very low amount. Another factor is to look at the patient's family's living habits. Family living habits are also related to family colorectal cancer clustering. These two factors cause 30% of colorectal cancer to cluster in families.

Early detection of colorectal cancer is a very complex plan, and efforts should be made from several aspects. One is that it should be an early examination, and a colonoscopy should be done, especially for people with colorectal cancer patients at home, who are high-risk groups and should pay attention to timely examination. In addition, we must closely monitor some diseases related to colorectal cancer. From the perspective of clinical manifestations and symptoms, we should pay special attention to changes in stool conditions, especially after the occurrence of blood in the stool, we must not take it lightly, and we must not treat it as hemorrhoids and check it early. Generally speaking, the difference between internal hemorrhoid bleeding and intestinal bleeding is that hemorrhoid bleeding is often bright red blood, and it is mostly before or after the stool comes out. This blood is often not mixed with the stool. Intestinal bleeding is often dark blood instead of bright red, because it is far away from the anus. Usually, we should pay attention to routine stool examinations. If the test result is positive, we need to do further colonoscopy. If it is negative for several consecutive times, then there is no big problem.
