Causes of primary bronchogenic lung cancer

Causes of primary bronchogenic lung cancer

Primary bronchogenic carcinoma, also known as lung cancer, is the most common primary malignant lung tumor. Its incidence has risen sharply in recent years, especially in industrially developed areas. Lung cancer ranks first among the causes of death from malignant tumors in men and second only to breast cancer in women.

Especially in some industrial or mining areas with heavy air pollution, the mortality rate of lung cancer patients ranks first. It is common in men aged 45 to 75, followed by women. The peak age is 70 years old, and it decreases slightly after 70 years old. The causes of primary bronchial lung cancer are related to the following factors:

1. Smoking According to relevant surveys, lung cancer patients are closely related to smoking. More than 80% of lung cancer patients have a history of smoking. Foreign studies have shown that smokers have a lung cancer incidence rate that is twice as high as non-smokers. The earlier the age of smoking and the longer the smoking time, the higher the incidence of lung cancer.

2. Air pollution In industrially developed areas and urban areas with heavy air pollution, the incidence of illness among residents is significantly higher than in rural areas. Relevant studies have shown that this may be related to the content of benzopyrene in the air.

3. The incidence of lung cancer is significantly increased among people who have long-term exposure to carcinogenic substances, such as those engaged in tobacco processing and mineral processing, and those who have long-term exposure to arsenic, chromium, coal tar, asphalt smoke, and radioactive substances such as uranium and radium.

4. Other factors such as chronic bronchitis, tuberculosis, vitamin A deficiency, long-term stimulation of the respiratory tract by bad gases, family inheritance, etc., are all related to the incidence of lung cancer.
