Several types of gastroscopy commonly used in the diagnosis of gastric cancer

The prognosis of gastric cancer is closely related to the early or late diagnosis. Early diagnosis is the key to improving the efficacy. Gastroscopy is often used in gastric cancer examination, and gastroscopy can include ordinary electronic gastroscopy, chromoendoscopy, ultrasound endoscopy and magnifying endoscopy, as follows:

1. Ordinary electronic gastroscope: Ordinary electronic gastroscope can directly observe the changes in the morphology of the stomach and take biopsies of diseased tissues. Multiple tissue biopsies can improve the diagnosis rate.

2. Chromoendoscopy: Chromoendoscopy is an inspection method that directly spreads pigment liquid under the endoscope. It is simple to operate and does not require special equipment. It can be divided into contrast method, reaction method, and fluorescent pigment method according to different mechanisms of action. Currently, chromoendoscopy is not widely used.

3. Ultrasound endoscopy: Ultrasound endoscopy appeared in the late 1970s. The ultrasound probe is closer to the lesion site and is not affected by abdominal wall attenuation and gastric gas. Higher frequency ultrasound waves can be used to obtain better images. The stomach wall can be divided into five layers under ultrasound endoscopy, representing different gastric tissues.

4. Magnifying endoscope: Some subtle lesions are difficult to detect with conventional electronic endoscopes and are easily missed. Magnifying endoscope is a diagnostic endoscope with a magnification between that of the naked eye and a microscope. It can detect tiny lesions in the mucosa to improve the diagnosis rate.
