TCM classification and treatment of lymphoma

Traditional Chinese medicine has been studying lymphoma for hundreds of years and has accumulated a wealth of experience. In clinical practice, lymphoma is often divided into the following types for syndrome differentiation and treatment.

1. Cold phlegm stagnation syndrome

Main symptoms: enlarged lymph nodes under the ears on the neck, without pain or itching, unchanged skin color, hard as stone, not accompanied by fever, pale complexion, fatigue, deep and thready pulse, thin white tongue coating. Treatment: warming and transforming cold, transforming phlegm and detoxifying. Prescription: Yanghe Decoction with modifications according to symptoms.

2. Qi stagnation and phlegm accumulation syndrome

Main symptoms: chest tightness, distension in the flanks, nodules in the abdomen, nodules in the neck, axilla and groin, subcutaneous nodules, weight loss and fatigue. Deep and stringy pulse or slippery pulse, pale red tongue with white fur, or petechiae on the tongue. Treatment: soothe the liver and relieve depression, resolve phlegm and disperse nodules. Prescription: Shugan Kuijian Decoction with modifications according to symptoms.

3. Liver and Kidney Yin Deficiency

Main symptoms: fever in the five parts of the body, hot flashes in the afternoon, sore waist and weak legs, fatigue, decreased appetite, pale face, tiredness, emaciation, multiple lymph node enlargement. Weak and thready pulse, red or light red tongue, thin white fur; Treatment: nourishing the liver and kidney, replenishing qi and blood; Prescriptions: Liuwei Dihuang Decoction, Bazhen Decoction, Sijunzi Decoction.

4. Blood heat and toxic stasis type

Main symptoms: persistent fever, occasional night sweats, increasing size of swelling, sometimes itchy skin, nodules or erythema, dry mouth and tongue, irritability, dry or hard stools, red or dark purple tongue, yellow and greasy tongue coating or light crimson and no coating, thin and rapid pulse or thin and stringy pulse; Treatment: cooling blood and removing blood stasis, clearing heat and detoxifying; Prescriptions: Rhinoceros Horn and Rehmannia Decoction, Wuwei Xiaodu Drink.
