How to care for patients with lymphoma

Good care for lymphoma can effectively prolong the patient's survival time and also plays a vital role in the later treatment of the disease, so the following aspects should be done well:

Psychological care

Once a patient is diagnosed with lymphoma, they may experience fear, tension, pessimism, and loss. Family members should inform the patient of the treatment and recovery status in detail, and cooperate with the doctor to communicate more with the patient, encouraging the patient to build up enough confidence and actively cooperate with the treatment. Although the survival period of these patients is limited, most patients can maintain a peaceful state of mind after being discharged from the hospital, without a great psychological burden, which may extend their survival period.

General care

After treatment, lymphoma patients may experience a series of symptoms in their bodies, which need to be treated symptomatically. For example, for patients after surgery, attention should be paid to the patient's resting position, infection and other postoperative complications; skin care is more important for patients after radiotherapy; after chemotherapy, attention should be paid to adequate nutrition of the body, etc.; appropriate care methods should be given in a timely manner according to the patient's characteristics.

Diet care

Malignant lymphoma patients often suffer from anorexia, nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort and bloating after radiotherapy and chemotherapy, so the food should have complete color, aroma, taste and shape to stimulate the patient's appetite; pay attention to comprehensive nutrition, and consume more high-calorie, high-protein, vitamin-rich and easily digestible foods; for patients with oral and pharyngeal ulcers, liquid food such as milk, oatmeal porridge and bland food can be used instead; drink plenty of water to enhance the body's tolerance to chemotherapy and radiotherapy and promote the excretion of toxins.
