How long after breakfast can I go running

Nowadays, people are paying more and more attention to their physical health, so more and more people start jogging in the morning. Some people are used to running before breakfast, while others are used to running after breakfast. As we all know, after eating breakfast, the food needs to be digested in the stomach and you cannot run immediately, otherwise it will cause great damage to the stomach. So, how long after breakfast can you go running?

Generally speaking, it is safer to run one hour after a meal. If you run soon after a meal, it will be detrimental to digestion and absorption. After a meal, the intestines need more blood supply to help digest food. If you exercise vigorously at this time, part of the blood may go to the muscular system, causing symptoms such as indigestion. If it lasts for a long time, it will definitely have an adverse effect on your body.

The length of the interval between a meal and exercise largely depends on the type of meal and the amount consumed. Other determining factors include age, physical condition, and exercise intensity. Assuming it is an average middle-aged person, if the meal before exercise is large and mostly contains high protein and fat, the interval time should be more than two hours; if the meal is small and mainly carbohydrates, the interval time can be shortened to 30 minutes to 1 hour. It's best to make any changes gradually, but if you experience any muscular or digestive problems, you should pause.

How to exercise after breakfast

First, half an hour after meal: During this half hour, rest should be the main focus, sit quietly and chat with your family after breakfast, and talk about more happy topics after dinner. It not only maintains a good mood, but also ensures optimal digestion of food.

Secondly, 1 to 1.5 hours after a meal: At this time, the peak of food digestion has basically passed, and normal exercise is not a problem. Exercises such as brisk walking and jogging can be slowly introduced. As the saying goes, "Take a walk after a meal and you will live to be 99." Taking a walk after a meal can promote digestion, but strenuous exercise should still be done in moderation.
