Symptoms of animal fur allergy

Symptoms of animal fur allergy

There are many people who are allergic to animal fur in our lives. More and more people suffer from complications due to allergies, and even the individual's immune system will be affected. First of all, sensitivity testing should be carried out, because there is no guarantee that you will be allergic to all fur. The material and contact of each type of fur are different. In addition, you must have a correct understanding and concept of allergies.

Immunotherapy can relieve symptoms but cannot cure the disease. Doctors will try to reduce the patient's immune system's sensitivity to animal immunotherapy, which can reduce symptoms. Through some injection treatments, the body will produce antibodies to lock in allergens and avoid allergic reactions. However, most Western medicines contain hormones, and I personally do not recommend long-term use. It is recommended to use Chinese medicine to regulate and strengthen one's own immunity.

pathology

Allergy is a disease of civilization. Medically, allergies are divided into four different types and named with Roman numerals I to IV. The most common of these are types I and IV. Type I is sometimes called "atopic" or "rapid allergy." For example, the human body will react within seconds after being stung by an insect, animal hair allergies and pollen allergies will react within minutes, and food allergies will react within 30 minutes. In contrast, type IV allergies react much more slowly, with symptoms not appearing until a day or several days later. For example, allergies to decorative objects and many types of occupational allergies. Therefore, people call it "delayed allergy".

There are many different definitions of allergy (i.e. allergic reaction). In order to clarify this important issue and ensure that medical practitioners communicate within a unified concept, WAO recommends the use of a set of internationally unified definitions and terminology. Prior to this, the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology had published "A Revised Definition of Immunity" and recommended the use of this set of terms (Ref: Johansson et al. Allergy 2001). On this basis, WAO revised and supplemented it again and recommended the promotion of the use of this latest version (Ref: Johansson et al. JACI, 2004).

allergy

Allergy refers to a hypersensitive reaction induced by an immune mechanism. Allergies can be mediated by either humoral (antibody) or cellular immune mechanisms. In most cases, the antibodies that produce the allergic reaction are of the IgE class and these individuals can be classified as having an IgE-mediated allergy. However, not all "atopy" individuals will develop IgE-related "allergic reactions". Antibodies may also be of the IgG class in non-IgE-mediated allergic reactions, such as anaphylactic shock and the now rare serum sickness caused by immune complexes containing dextran, which were previously classified as type III anaphylaxis. In patients with allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA), both IgE and IgG antibodies can be detected. Allergic contact dermatitis is a representative of lymphocyte-mediated allergic diseases.

Allergens

Most allergens that react with IgE and IgG antibodies are proteins. They usually have hydrocarbon side chains, but simple carbohydrates can also act as allergens in some cases. In a few cases, some low molecular weight chemicals, such as isocyanates and anhydrides, can act as haptens and are still classified as allergens to which IgE antibodies belong. In cases of contact allergic dermatitis, typical allergens are small molecule chemicals, such as chromium, nickel and formaldehyde, which can react with T cells. Substances that cause allergic reactions are called allergens.
