Nowadays, many people do not pay attention to their oral hygiene, which leads to some problems with their teeth, or even tooth loss. In this case, they need to have their teeth filled. However, they must pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene during the filling process, and they must rinse their mouths more often after the filling to avoid some bacteria residue in their mouths, which may harm other teeth in their mouths. There are many ways to repair missing teeth, which can be roughly divided into three categories: removable dentures, fixed dentures and implant dentures. 1. The characteristics of removable dentures are short treatment course and low cost, but there is a very obvious foreign body sensation after wearing, which requires a long time to adapt, and the retention force is poor, the chewing efficiency is not high, and generally needs to be repaired or remade after 3-5 years. 2. Fixed dentures refer to dentures that are fixed in the mouth, the most common of which is "porcelain teeth". The remaining healthy teeth on both sides of the missing tooth gap are prepared (ground down a circle), and then porcelain caps are made on the ground down abutment teeth. This treatment method has a shorter course of treatment and can improve chewing efficiency and comfort, but because it requires grinding down healthy teeth, it will have a certain impact on the health of adjacent teeth. 3. Implant dentures refer to the implantation of artificial tooth roots in the toothless area, and the restoration of the upper denture is performed after a firm bone bond is formed between the artificial tooth roots and the alveolar bone. It has the advantages of being beautiful, comfortable, efficient in chewing, and not damaging adjacent teeth, but it generally requires a treatment period of about 3 months and the cost of treatment is relatively high. There is no superiority or inferiority among the three repair methods. The best choice is the one that best suits the patient's condition. Resin restoration refers to the use of composite resin materials to repair tooth tissue defects caused by caries, wedge-shaped defects, trauma, etc., in order to restore their appearance and function. The teeth after filling are so lifelike that it is almost impossible to tell that they have been repaired. Resin filling materials can be used for front and back teeth and are called tooth-colored materials. Resin restorations rely on good bonding and restoration techniques. Bonding restoration in stomatology is a technique that uses adhesive materials to fix resin fillings to the tooth surface structure or other restorative materials to achieve a repair or treatment effect when a tooth is defective. The bonding strength mainly depends on polymer organic bonding materials (resin bonding materials) and various bonding technologies. Composite resin filling materials have been used for tooth restoration for more than half a century. With the rapid development of materials technology, bonding systems and composite resin materials have been able to meet the clinical requirements of being both strong and beautiful, becoming the preferred technology in direct tooth restoration. |
