Why does my neck itch all the time?

4. Neurodermatitis

Neurodermatitis is a common itchy skin disease in adults. The cause of the disease is generally believed to be related to mental factors, such as emotional excitement, excessive work stress, sadness and anxiety, etc. Severe itching is the characteristic of this disease. The skin becomes thicker after scratching, but the boundaries are clear and there is no scale. It is light red in the early stage, and then there is local pigmentation, which often occurs around the neck, behind the elbows, buttocks and sides of the calves.

What to do if your neck itches?

1. Avoid scratching, washing with hot water, drinking alcohol, strong tea and eating spicy and irritating foods. Patients with systemic diseases should actively treat the primary disease. For patients suffering from neurasthenia, sedatives and hypnotics can be used appropriately.

2. To prevent skin itching in winter, please reduce the number of baths. If you take a bath every day, it is recommended to use warm water for a short rinse and avoid long-term high-temperature rinses.

3. You should drink more water to replenish the water loss of the body and skin, and appropriately supplement with foods containing vitamins A and E, such as carrots, cabbage, peanuts, sesame, etc.
