Can oily ears be cured?

People's ears will secrete a substance that can protect the ears, but it is called earwax. Some people will use an ear pick to pick their ears when they are bored. In fact, earwax does not need to be picked too frequently, it can protect the ears. Picking the ears all the time may lead to oily ears. So can oily ears be cured?

1. Alcohol treatment

First of all, you can use alcohol to clean it. You can use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to clean the ear canal, and then slowly wipe it with a little alcohol. Don't use alcohol excessively. Because alcohol is not a good thing, everyone should be vigilant in time and clean according to the regular methods. Of course, some congenital diseases are hereditary and cannot be treated.

When using a cotton swab, gently wipe the secretions from the external auditory canal. During the rubbing process, do not insert the cotton swab too deep into the ear canal. 0.5 to 1 cm is appropriate. Be careful not to scratch the skin of the external auditory canal and the eardrum. If cerumen embolism has formed, medical personnel should be asked to remove it promptly.

2. Dig your ears moderately

In addition, we must regularly dig our ears and clean our ears regularly. Over time, the ears will produce a certain amount of earwax and garbage, so we must regularly clean out these garbage so that our ears can be cleaner and tidier.

3. Pay attention to your diet

Before taking a bath or washing your hair, plug both ear holes with sterilized cotton balls to prevent dirty water from entering the ears. The diet should be light, easily digestible, and nutritious. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits. Avoid spicy foods such as wine, onions, garlic, etc. to prevent internal heat and toxins.

Causes of Oily Ears

Usually, people's ear canal secretions - earwax (medically known as "cerumen") are dry and become crumbs or slightly yellowish scabs, which are called dry cerumen.

This is a mixture of secretions from the cerumen glands in the skin of the ear canal and the desquamated epithelium of the external auditory canal. Sebaceous glands secrete oily sebum, which lubricates the skin and acts as a sticky barrier for foreign objects such as insects.

Oily earwax is determined by genes. Some people have extra secretion from cerumen glands and sebaceous glands, and the discharge is a brown, oily and sticky substance that accumulates in the outer part of the eye before it dries. Some even flow out of the ear, and some condense into clumps. These are collectively called soft earwax, commonly known as "oily ears", and medically called oily earwax.

The occurrence of "oily ears" is related to race and ethnicity. According to statistics, the Ainu people account for 100%, while whites and Caucasians account for 90%. The incidence rate among Mongolians is 20%, among Japanese is below 20%, and among the Han Chinese is low, at 5-7%.
