How to repair bulging floor tiles

Floor tiles are the most common decoration material in home decoration. They can make the interior space more spacious and exquisite. When laying floor tiles, if you are not careful, the tiles may bulge. There are many reasons for this phenomenon. For example, if they are not completely firm during laying, it will often cause loosening. In addition, thermal expansion and contraction can easily lead to this phenomenon. At this time, they should be repaired in time.

How to repair the bulging floor tiles

1. The tiles are completely loose

The bulging of floor tiles can be divided into two situations: completely loose and incompletely loose. It is relatively simple to deal with completely loose tiles. You only need to take out the bulging tiles, clean the dust and foreign matter on the back of the tiles and the base layer of the ground, and then stick them with special tile glue. Because the floor tiles need to have a certain degree of pressure resistance, it is best to apply the tile glue evenly on the back of the tiles to avoid gaps.

2. The tiles are not completely loose

If the tiles are not completely loose, it is easy to cause damage to the tiles when we take them out. If they are damaged, users need to replace them. If users do not have spare tiles, they need to buy tiles of the same brand, model, color and specification to replace them. There may also be some color difference, which is more troublesome. If the tiles are damaged, you can smash the tiles in the middle and then use a crowbar to pry them from the middle to the sides so as not to cause damage to the surrounding tiles. Finally, apply tile glue and lay them.

Why are the floor tiles bulging?

1. The bonding layer under the floor tiles does not meet the design standards, resulting in insufficient bonding, which causes the floor tiles to bulge.

2. What is the reason why the floor tiles bulge? If after the floor tiles are laid, the mortar at the bottom is not properly protected, the edges and corners of the floor tiles are under too much pressure and cause bulging.

3. Usually our floor tiles are laid with parallel seams. The size of the gap between the tiles is unreasonable. If the telescopic arm of the bottom layer of the tiles is large, it will easily cause the tiles to bulge.

4. If the construction level is not up to standard when laying the floor tiles, there will be many gaps left after the floor tiles are laid, which means

When laying tiles, the cement or adhesive is not filled in place, and there are many bubbles and gaps between the tiles and the cement. When these gaps expand and contract in the air, the internal gaps of the tiles will be squeezed due to weather changes, causing bulging.
