Can fat people suffer from hypoglycemia?

Can fat people suffer from hypoglycemia?

Many people think that only thin people will suffer from hypoglycemia. This is not true. Hypoglycemia does not distinguish between fat and thin people. Some fat people will also suffer from hypoglycemia. When hypoglycemia occurs, some symptoms often appear, such as sweating, hunger, and panic. If it is more serious, it may even cause great harm to health. If physiological hypoglycemia occurs, you should eat something in time, such as some biscuits, drink some glucose, etc.

Can fat people have low blood sugar?

Hypoglycemia refers to a fasting blood glucose concentration in an adult below 2.8mmol/L. Hypoglycemia can be diagnosed in diabetic patients when their blood glucose level is ≤3.9 mmol/L. Hypoglycemia is a syndrome caused by a variety of factors, characterized by low venous plasma glucose (blood sugar) concentration, and clinically by sympathetic nerve excitement and brain cell hypoxia. Symptoms of hypoglycemia usually include sweating, hunger, palpitations, tremors, pale complexion, etc. In severe cases, patients may also experience inattention, restlessness, irritability, and even coma. Low blood sugar has little to do with being fat or thin.

What can't you eat if you have low blood sugar?

First of all, people with hypoglycemia are best to quit smoking and drinking. Because alcohol, caffeine and cigarettes can seriously affect the stability of blood sugar and lower blood sugar concentration, it is best to quit or use them less, especially for pregnant women. Regardless of whether you have hypoglycemia or not, you should not touch cigarettes and alcohol. Otherwise, the serious consequences will be more than just hypoglycemia. Also, you should strictly limit your intake of monosaccharides and try to eat less refined and processed products, such as white flour and soda.

In addition, in your daily diet, in addition to eating light food, you should also pay attention to not simply eating only a certain type of food or category of food. You should maintain the diversity of food types and consume a certain amount of carbohydrates at each meal, while taking into account meat, seafood, rice, white flour, potatoes, vegetables, fruits and dairy products to maintain a balanced nutrition.
