Indoor plants that don't like sunlight

Indoor plants that don't like sunlight

People often put some green plants indoors to purify the environment, refresh the air, and make the environment more beautiful. Some plants don't like sunlight and are best kept indoors. However, plants that do not like sunlight often have higher requirements for planting. If you want to cultivate these plants, you must understand their habits. So, what are some indoor plants that don’t like sunlight?

1 Chlorophytum, Asparagus fern, is affectionately known as the "purifier" in the room and belongs to the Liliaceae family. This type of plant can eliminate formaldehyde pollution in the house and has no restrictions on living area.

Chlorophytum likes a warm and humid semi-shady environment. It is not cold-resistant and is afraid of strong sunlight.

During the high temperatures in summer, it should be placed under a shade shed or in the shade of a tree for maintenance.

Foliage plants such as Monstera and Spring Rain belong to the Araceae family.

Larger plants are suitable as decorative plants in offices and restaurants, while small plants can be placed in the living room to beautify the environment, but it is best not to place them in the bedroom.

2 Banyan trees, Australian fir and other tree plants are suitable for placing in spacious living rooms, or as ornamental bonsai in unit lobbies.

Since the Australian cedar releases oxygen and absorbs carbon dioxide through photosynthesis, there is no need to worry about it competing with people for oxygen when placed in the living room.

In addition to the above-mentioned flowers and plants, traditional plants such as ivy, canna, and dieffenbachia also have the function of regulating indoor air.

It should be noted that you should try not to plant flowering plants with too strong fragrance in your home.

3. The fragrance of oleander can make people drowsy and reduce intelligence; the particles emitted by hydrangea can cause skin allergies and itching; the flowers of tulips are toxic and excessive contact can cause hair loss; the oily fragrance emitted by pine and cypress trees can affect people's appetite.

4. Dracaena: There are about 50 varieties. It is very simple to plant. It does not require direct sunlight. It needs to be kept away from the sun and avoid excessive watering. Remember to prune it frequently.

5. Ornamental pineapples: Bromeliaceae plants are the most perfect varieties for indoor planting. This plant can thrive under the shade of trees. It is a tropical plant and can be placed anywhere in the house as long as it is not too cold. It can even grow well with the help of lights.

6. Maidenhair fern: Everyone likes ferns. Maidenhair fern is also a plant suitable for indoor growth. It does not need direct sunlight and can grow well with scattered light.

7. Miniature Coconut: It is a very popular palm variety. It is an excellent variety for indoor planting. It will not change even if placed in a dark corner. Be careful to water it when it is dry, and do not allow water to accumulate, as this will cause root rot.

8. Papyrus: An evergreen plant, suitable for indoor planting and shady bog gardens.

9. Tiger tail orchid: It does not require much care and is very suitable for indoor planting. It will not die even if it is kept in a dark environment all year round.

10. Ficus microcarpa: It has strong vitality, similar to aloe vera. It will be watered when the soil is dry, but it does not like waterlogging.
