Is it harmful to put a router in the bedroom?

Nowadays people can't live without the Internet, and routers are indispensable when using the Internet. In a home, the farther away from the router, the weaker the Wi-Fi signal. So many people put their routers in their bedrooms. There is a saying circulating recently: the electromagnetic waves released by routers can affect people's health, and many people believe it. So are things really as they are said on the Internet?

1. Regarding whether electromagnetic magnetic fields affect the human body, first of all, we have to say that the human body itself can also produce biochemical reactions and generate some weak electric currents. Nerves transmit signals by sending electrical pulses. The human body's digestive function and brain activity are caused by the arrangement of electrical particles. The heart is also performing electrical activities all the time. This is also the basic principle of the electrocardiogram.

2. Another key point is the classification of electromagnetic fields, non-ionizing electromagnetic fields and ionizing radiation. Electromagnetic waves have two properties: frequency and wavelength. To put it simply, a rope produces a fixed wave shape when it shakes up and down. The distance between the wave crests is the wavelength, and the wave density is the frequency. Electromagnetic waves use microscopic photons as carriers. High-frequency (short-wavelength) photons carry more energy than low-frequency (long-wavelength) photons. If the energy is small, it is harmless and is called a non-ionizing electromagnetic field. If it is too large, it will have the ability to destroy the chemical bonds between molecules and become ionizing radiation, such as gamma rays, cosmic rays and X-rays. In daily life, our application of strong electromagnetic fields should be to use microwave ovens to heat food.

3. There is no doubt that low-frequency electromagnetic fields can generate current and voltage in the human body. The intensity of the field depends on the strength of the magnetic field and the electric field. If it is large enough, it will definitely cause stimulation and other physiological processes. However, current research shows that even if you are exposed to high-voltage wires for a long time, the induced current in your body is still far from the limit of producing clicks and other electrical effects.

4. Conclusion Analysis: Based on the above, we can conclude that electromagnetic fields will undoubtedly cause biological effects on the human body. The most intuitive feeling is that the human tissue is heated, but the biological effect is not equal to a health threat (feeling heat is also a kind of biological effect). Being in a strong electromagnetic field will definitely harm your health, so astronauts must wear spacesuits when walking in space. As for the low-intensity electromagnetic fields that we are exposed to on a daily basis, extensive research has still not confirmed that they will have any impact on health.

5. Summary: Placing a router in the bedroom has no effect on people, so there is no need to worry.
