How to maintain genuine leather shoes?

How to maintain genuine leather shoes?

Whether male or female, everyone will buy genuine leather shoes. Genuine leather shoes are very textured and look classy when worn. They are a way to enhance a person's temperament. Genuine leather shoes are also very comfortable to wear, for example, they are relatively soft. However, genuine leather shoes are also very expensive. In order to extend the service life of leather shoes, you must learn how to maintain them properly.

How to maintain genuine leather shoes?

The purpose of maintaining leather shoes is to keep their bright color and consistently beautiful appearance; to protect the soft and comfortable wearing performance of the leather, to protect the feet over time and to extend the service life of the leather shoes. In addition, the following points should be noted.

(1) Leather shoes should not be exposed to the sun or heated by fire. The leather upper of leather shoes is afraid of exposure to the sun and cannot be baked near a stove or other heat source, because exposure and baking will cause the oil inside the leather to evaporate quickly, making the leather hard and causing the leather fibers to become broken and easy to break. If there is a lot of sweat and moisture in the shoes, you can dry them in a place away from sunlight.

(2) Leather shoes should be kept away from oil. The general rubber soles of various leather shoes are afraid of oil, because general rubber will expand and twist after being soaked in oil. Although plastic soles and rubber-plastic soles are more oil-resistant, they should not be soaked in oil to avoid causing the glued leather shoes to come apart. When adding grease to the upper leather, do not apply it too much or too frequently to prevent the grease from migrating to the bonding between the upper and the sole, affecting the bonding strength.

(3) Leather shoes should avoid contact with acids and alkalis. Leather is not very resistant to acid and alkali corrosion, especially alkaline corrosion. Alkali can not only destroy the coating on the surface of leather shoes, but also burn the fiber tissue of the leather.

(4) Leather shoes should be protected from moisture and mildew.

(5) Worn soles and heels should be sent to the repair department as soon as possible.

Daily Use and Care 1. Leather shoes should be worn every other day, because foot sweat can easily cause moisture in the shoe cavity. When not wearing, please put them in a cool place and blow them to prevent bacteria from growing. If necessary, put them in a place with sunlight but not direct sunlight for about 30 minutes to dry them for a better sterilization effect.

2. When shoes are not worn, clean them in time and put them in shoe trees to keep the leather surface in good shape and prevent wrinkles in the bent parts of the leather shoes. If there are no shoe trees, you can use clean and hygienic waste paper instead, which can have the same effect.

3. If the leather shoes get wet, you should wipe the moisture off the shoe surface with a dry cloth. If the condition is serious, you can put absorbent paper in the shoe cavity and let the leather shoes dry naturally. Please note that you must not expose them to the sun or blow dry them with a hair dryer, otherwise it will easily cause the leather shoes to deform, the leather surface to harden, or the surface coating to break and fall off. Please do not rush to oil your leather shoes when they are not completely dry, as the leather coating has not yet solidified and oiling may easily cause discoloration or loosening of the coating.

4. Regularly care for and maintain your leather shoes to keep them shiny and moisturized, preferably once every 10 days. When caring for your shoes, dark and light shoe polishes and tools should be used separately, and colorless and transparent shoe polish should be used as much as possible for pairing colored leather shoes. When applying oil to leather shoes, please do not wipe them immediately. Allow 5-10 minutes for the leather surface to fully absorb and moisturize, so that the leather surface can be cleaner and have a better gloss when wiped.

5. To oil and care for leather shoes, first wipe the leather shoes clean with a rag, then apply shoe polish on the shoe cloth or shoe polish. When wiping, apply shoe polish thinly and evenly, and shoe polish should not accumulate on the shoe surface. Use a shoe cloth or shoe eraser with moderate force, wiping back and forth until the leather shoes are shiny and not greasy. Good leather shoes should not be treated with polish-type care products. Please use high-quality leather shoe cleaning and maintenance products recommended by professional sellers.
