How to clean silver and make it shiny

Silver jewelry is a type of jewelry that many people like, such as silver bracelets, silver necklaces and silver earrings, which are must-have items for many women. However, during the use of silver jewelry, it often becomes dull or even blackened due to being worn for a long time. However, at this point, certain methods can be used to make the silver look as shiny as new again. The specific method is as follows:

1. Detergent/alkaline cleaning

To clean silver bracelets, you can use alkaline laundry detergent or alkaline flour. Put an appropriate amount of laundry detergent or alkaline flour in a small container.

After putting the washing powder or alkaline flour into the container, add an appropriate amount of water into the container to completely dissolve the washing powder or alkaline flour.

After the washing powder or alkaline surface is thoroughly dissolved in water, put the silver bracelet to be cleaned in it. Soak it for about half an hour to remove the silver bracelet, and then wipe the silver bracelet with cotton cloth. In this way, the silver bracelet will be clean.

2. Cleaning with toothpaste

In addition to washing powder and alkali to clean silver bracelets, we can also use toothpaste to clean silver bracelets. First, rinse the silver bracelet to be cleaned with clean water and soak the bracelet completely.

After soaking the bracelet, squeeze an appropriate amount of toothpaste onto the silver bracelet to be cleaned, and then use a soft-bristled toothbrush to clean the silver bracelet.

After cleaning the silver bracelet with a soft-bristled toothbrush, rinse off the toothpaste foam on the bracelet with clean water, and then wipe it dry with cotton cloth or towel. The cleaned silver bracelet will be as good as new.

3. Silver cleaning cloth and silver cleaning liquid

There are many silver polishing cloths and silver cleaning liquids on the market, which can quickly remove the black color on the surface of silver jewelry. Or you can go directly to a silver jewelry store and ask someone to help clean it, but this method is often not recommended for cleaning silver jewelry because it is corrosive and can easily cause the silver jewelry to become darker.

4. Wipe with cotton cloth

Using cotton cloth to wipe the surface of silver jewelry can also effectively remove the black spots. If you want better results, you can add an appropriate amount of white vinegar, which can also easily remove the black matter on its surface. But one thing you need to remember is not to use strong acid liquids such as hydrochloric acid or nitric acid for cleaning, otherwise it will easily cause chemical reactions in silver jewelry.
