What to do if your eyes are injured and bleeding

The eyes are particularly sensitive, so if you experience any discomfort, you should go to the hospital for a check-up. Take measures as early as possible to protect your eyes. When you have time, you must pay more attention to your body and get enough sleep. There are many types of eye injuries. If it is caused by foreign objects, you must do a good job of anti-inflammatory work to prevent infection of the injured area. It is best to cooperate with the doctor for examination, follow the doctor's instructions, and never play with your mobile phone again.

If your eyes have been injured, you should go to the hospital for a check-up to see if there is anything serious so that you can take preventive measures early. You should go see a doctor when you have time.

Eye injuries: Eye injuries are divided into two categories: mechanical and non-mechanical.

Mechanical eye injury

Including non-perforating trauma (mainly blunt contusion of the eye), perforating eye trauma, and foreign body injury, these injuries can cause sympathetic ophthalmia.

Blunt trauma to the eye

The common injuries caused by blunt force trauma to the eye are as follows:

① Subcutaneous hemorrhage and emphysema of the eyelid. Subcutaneous eyelid emphysema is caused by blunt eye contusion combined with fracture of the medial wall of the orbit (usually the ethmoid sinus). The gas in the ethmoid sinus enters the subcutaneous eyelid endothelium, causing crepitus when touched. Subcutaneous bruising and emphysema can usually be absorbed on their own. Infection should be prevented when accompanied by subcutaneous emphysema.

②Corneal epithelial exfoliation. To prevent infection, apply antibiotic eye ointment and cover the injured eye.

③ Anterior chamber hemorrhage. Caused by bleeding in the iris or ciliary body. If the amount of bleeding is large, glaucoma may occur. The patient should rest in bed in a semi-sitting position so that the blood can settle under the anterior chamber and not cover the pupil. Use hemostatic drugs appropriately. Patients with secondary glaucoma should take intraocular pressure-lowering drugs orally and undergo anterior chamber paracentesis if necessary.

Eye injuries are serious because eyes cannot regenerate, unlike skin which can regrow. Therefore, sufficient attention should be paid to it.

Suggestions: It is recommended that you go to the hospital immediately for treatment and go to the ophthalmology department for relevant examinations to check the location of the bleeding and whether the eyeball is damaged and the vision is affected, so that the doctor can provide treatment.

Your current symptom is anterior chamber hemorrhage, which may be combined with vitreous hemorrhage + lens dislocation, requiring surgical treatment. According to your description, if your eyes are injured and congested, you should first go to the hospital and let the doctor check to see where the injury is, and then provide symptomatic treatment, which will be more effective.

If vision is not affected, it may be a subconjunctival hemorrhage. Don't worry. Apply cold compress to stop bleeding within 24 hours, and apply hot compress after 24 hours to promote absorption of blood stasis. You can take Panax notoginseng tablets or Yunnan Baiyao orally to promote blood circulation and heal the disease. If you feel your vision is affected, be sure to see an ophthalmologist for examination and treatment as soon as possible.
