My legs and arms feel a little tired

Weakness in the legs and arms is actually general weakness, but this part of the body is used constantly, so it is more obvious. The most common factor is fatigue. However, this is not the only factor that causes fatigue. Some diseases are also important reasons. If it lasts too long, we must pay attention to it, actively find the cause and solve it to avoid causing too much impact on our health. So, why do my legs and arms feel a little tired?

Symptoms: Fatigue

Manual laborers can easily become fatigued if they eat too light a diet because the sodium in salt can enhance the excitability of nerves and muscles.

Lack of sleep can make people feel tired, but people with neurasthenia will also feel weak if they take sleeping pills for a long time. Other drugs that cause fatigue include antihistamines such as diphenhydramine.

People who are addicted to alcohol often feel tired; hungry people also feel weak due to lack of protein and potassium; fatigue and weakness are sometimes prodromal symptoms of vitamin B1 deficiency, and alcoholics are prone to this disease.

Fatigue among people who do physical or mental work is a normal physiological phenomenon, but feeling tired after just a little work is something that needs to be taken seriously.

People who frequently vomit and have diarrhea and use large amounts of diuretics may experience general weakness due to low blood potassium; however, patients with high blood potassium may also feel weak, so blood tests are needed to differentiate between the two.

Diabetes is the most common disease causing fatigue. Due to abnormal glucose metabolism, reduced high-energy phosphate bonds, negative nitrogen balance, water loss and electrolyte imbalance, patients are prone to fatigue, weakness, thirst, weight loss, polyphagia and polyuria.

Anemia also often causes fatigue. Severe cases include chronic anemia, sudden onset iron deficiency anemia, acute hemorrhagic anemia, acute hemolytic anemia, etc. These patients all experience fatigue.

Patients with chronic nephritis also often feel tired and weak, and because they need to eat a low-salt or salt-free diet for a long time, they are prone to potassium deficiency. Therefore, fatigue, insomnia, and low back pain are often their main complaints when they seek medical treatment.

Almost everyone who suffers from colds and various infectious diseases experiences fatigue and weakness. Heart failure patients eat less and take in less magnesium, so the ATP that provides energy cannot be activated, resulting in fatigue.

Many endocrine diseases present with fatigue. Fatigue is the first symptom of patients with hypothyroidism and is also a common symptom in patients with hyperthyroidism.

Sheehan's syndrome caused by shock due to postpartum hemorrhage is mainly manifested by fatigue, amenorrhea, and weight loss, which is due to hypopituitarism. Patients with acromegaly caused by hyperpituitarism also often feel fatigue and weakness in the limbs.

The most obvious fatigue and weakness are seen in patients with myasthenia gravis. Due to the patient's neuromuscular conduction disorder, their skeletal muscles are extremely easy to fatigue. After a little activity, they quickly become weak. Continuous and rapid movements are more likely to cause fatigue. The feeling of fatigue is often lighter in the morning and heavier in the evening. Fatigue can be relieved after supplementing with potassium chloride.

Leukemia patients often feel weak because they also suffer from anemia. In addition to leukemia, many malignant tumors often manifest as fatigue symptoms in the early stages, but are also accompanied by other common symptoms of the tumor. For example, lung cancer often has symptoms such as cough, hemoptysis, chest pain, etc.

If you often feel weak and powerless for no apparent reason (such as overwork, lack of sleep, hot weather, hunger, etc.), you should seek medical attention promptly and tell your doctor about the feeling of fatigue and other discomforts without omission. On the other hand, don't be too nervous, because pathological fatigue will inevitably be accompanied by other discomforts. It is important to cooperate well with the doctor and do various necessary blood tests and other examinations to identify the disease early and receive timely treatment. Overwork.
