How long does it take for the blood test results to come out

When we get sick and go to the hospital for treatment, we usually have a blood test to check the ratio of various components in our blood to determine the health of our body. Sometimes we can also confirm DNA through blood tests. Anyway, blood tests have many uses and the results are relatively accurate. However, many people don’t know the time it takes for the results to come out. So, how long will it take for a blood test to produce results?

Blood tests usually involve venous blood. Except for items with special requirements, venous blood tests are generally required to be drawn in the morning. Before blood drawing, try to reduce the amount of exercise, do not eat food, and keep an empty stomach. You can drink a small amount of water, except for some tests that must be taken on time, which will interfere with the results.

If you are an inpatient, your blood should be drawn by a doctor or nurse when you are in a relatively stable state. The skin at the blood drawing site should be cleaned as much as possible before blood drawing.

The amount of blood drawn is determined by the content of the test and the number of items. The amount of blood drawn is generally 2-20 ml and will not exceed 50 ml at most.

If you have a blood test in the morning, the results will usually be available by 11 noon! The following are the reference values for bilirubin in newborns. Please refer to them.

Generally, the data measured through the skin should be less than 10 (the value may vary slightly depending on the instrument). If blood is drawn to measure the bilirubin level in the blood, the normal value is generally less than 205umol/l (12mg/dl). The normal value of total bilirubin for a 30-day-old normal infant is 1.7-17.1 umol/l (0.1-1.0 mg/dl). Direct bilirubin 0~6.8umol/l (0~0.4mg/dl). Indirect bilirubin 1.7~10.2umol/l (0.1~0.6mg/dl). A blood test will reveal the true bilirubin level. Because transcutaneous bilirubin measurement will be affected by the child's skin color and fat thickness, transcutaneous bilirubin measurement is generally used to dynamically observe changes in jaundice or roughly estimate the degree of jaundice. It measures the total bilirubin value.

For patients with nephritis, it is generally necessary to check routine blood and urine tests and liver and kidney function. Usually, fasting blood tests are done in the morning and the results may be available around 3 pm. You can consult the local hospital laboratory for details. Suggestions: If the diagnosis of nephritis is clear, in addition to active Western medical treatment in the local nephrology department, you can consult a local Chinese medicine practitioner for diagnosis and treatment, and cooperate with Chinese medicine to strengthen the spleen and kidneys. In daily life, keep a good mood, avoid getting angry and impatient, and avoid fatigue and colds.
