Causes of chronic pharyngitis

After acute pharyngitis, due to incomplete cure, the lesions are mild but persistent, forming chronic pharyngitis. This is a common aspect in clinical practice. Especially for some patients, repeated acute pharyngitis is more likely to cause the disease to prolong and develop chronic pharyngitis.

Many factors in life and environment are not conducive to throat health. Over time, chronic pharyngitis will develop. These common factors include: a fondness for spicy, roasted, and greasy foods (such as chili peppers, bacon, dried fish, fried foods, heavy and salty flavors, etc.), smoking, drinking, dry or dusty air, the dry climate in autumn can easily aggravate the condition, staying in a closed room with poor air circulation for a long time, excessive use of the voice (often related to occupation), improper use of the voice, stimulation by toxic and harmful gases, etc., can all directly cause chronic pharyngitis and its pathological changes, and severe cases may develop acute pharyngitis; those who often work or live in a dark and humid environment often have decreased or poor body resistance, which can easily cause acute or chronic pharyngitis.
