Seborrheic dermatitis is a common and frequently occurring disease that often occurs in young and middle-aged people. It causes great stress in daily life and affects people's work and study. The occurrence of seborrheic dermatitis is mostly due to bacteria or other problems, which causes great stress, especially when it occurs on both sides of the nose and on the face, which affects people's appearance, so we must find appropriate methods to deal with it in daily life. 1. What causes seborrheic dermatitis? The exact cause and pathogenesis of seborrheic dermatitis have not yet been fully elucidated. However, a large number of studies have shown that the pathogenesis of seborrheic dermatitis may be related to genetic, immune, neural, hormonal and environmental factors. It is also related to digestive dysfunction, excessive sugar and fat intake, mental stress, overwork, bacterial infection, and vitamin B deficiency. Abnormal sebum composition and excessive sebum secretion are the basis for the onset of seborrheic dermatitis. On this basis, the number of Malassezia may increase, or a large amount of free fatty acids may be secreted on the surface to irritate the skin and cause inflammatory lesions in that area of the skin. 2. What are the symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis? Seborrheic dermatitis manifests itself as inflammatory changes in seborrheic (oil-producing) areas such as the scalp, face, upper chest, and armpits. It can be divided into dry seborrheic dermatitis and oily seborrheic dermatitis. People with dry seborrheic dermatitis have drier skin, which manifests as dandruff and itching on the scalp. Oily seborrheic dermatitis occurs in people with excessive oil secretion, and is commonly manifested by greasy yellow-red patches and papules. In severe cases, there may be erosion, exudation, and greasy crusts, and it is often extremely itchy. The disease progresses slowly with repeated attacks. If secondary bacterial infection occurs, pustules or even ulcers may appear. In some cases, the rash may develop into erythroderma. 3. How to treat seborrheic dermatitis? 1. General treatment. Adjust your diet, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, limit high-fat and high-sugar foods, and avoid spicy and stimulating foods. Avoid excessive mental stress, lead a regular life, and get enough sleep. In addition, pay attention to local hygiene, avoid scratching, and prevent infection. 2. Treatment of the cause. The cause of this disease is still unknown and there is no special treatment. But be careful to reduce the stimulation of inducing factors such as diet and emotions. 3. Symptomatic treatment. (1) Internal therapy. When itching is severe, sedatives such as antihistamines can be used. Blockade therapy can also be used. When inflammation is obvious or secondary infection occurs, antibiotics such as tetracycline or erythromycin can be added. Supplement vitamin C, B6, B2 or vitamin B complex, and niacinamide. (2) External therapy The treatment principles are to remove fat, kill bacteria, reduce inflammation and relieve itching. ① If there is no erosion or exudation on the skin lesions on the head, you can use shampoo powder, selenium sulfide shampoo or 2% Chlorhexidine to wash your hair; apply 2% chlorine tincture externally twice a day; apply 5% sulfur cream mixed with corticosteroid cream externally; use antifungal, bacterial and hormone drugs such as Picon Cream or Compound Connal Cream; use 2% ketoconazole or 1% bifonazole cream externally; the scabs of infant seborrheic dermatitis can be rubbed with vegetable oil. If the scabs are thick, apply local pieces with ichthyol and antibiotic ointment to soften them and fall off. ② Damage to smooth skin such as the face is generally treated with a sulfur lotion or cream containing antibiotics. ③For those with erosion and exudation, apply 1:5000 potassium permanganate or 3% boric acid water for wet compress and then treat as dermatitis. Friends who suspect they have seborrheic dermatitis should see a dermatologist in time and choose a reasonable individualized treatment plan under the guidance of an experienced doctor. |
