Is toothpaste effective for toothache

We often hear or see in advertisements that a certain type of toothpaste is very effective in treating toothache. In fact, using toothpaste can, to a certain extent, have a bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effect. However, if the tooth is already inflamed and painful, the treatment effect is often not obvious. The most important thing is to pay attention to protecting its health before dental and oral diseases occur.

1. Medicated toothpaste has certain bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effects. Patients with toothache caused by gingivitis may wish to try this simple and convenient "toothpaste therapy". If the effect is not satisfactory after use, you should go to the hospital's dental department for diagnosis and treatment in time. The author and his wife used antibiotics at the same time as toothpaste, so the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects cannot be attributed entirely to the toothpaste.

2. Rinse your mouth with a mouthful of water (the temperature is close to body temperature) and rinse your mouth vigorously. If the toothache is caused by food scraps stuck between teeth, rinsing your mouth to remove the scraps can solve the toothache. If rinsing your mouth doesn't work, you can use dental floss. But be careful not to injure your gums.

3. Anesthesia and pain relief: Taking a sip of slightly strong liquor can numb the teeth and gums and achieve the effect of pain relief.

4. Hold aloe vera: Cut a small piece of aloe vera, peel off the skin, and hold the pulp containing sticky liquid in the painful area. It will relieve itself in 2-4 hours. Gargle with salt water: After each meal and before going to bed, add 1 teaspoon of salt to about 230ml of warm water (close to body temperature) and gargle with this solution. Do not swallow.

5. Pressing your hands can relieve 50% of the pain. Rub an ice cube into the V-shaped area between the thumb and index finger bones. Gently apply ice to the area for 5 to 7 minutes.

6. Apply ice to the cheek closest to the toothache just as you would a bruise to relieve the pain. Apply for 15 minutes each time, at least 3-4 times a day.
