Treatment of cheilitis

Treatment of cheilitis

Cheilitis refers to a disease in which the lips and mouth become inflamed. The cause of this disease may be malnutrition, viral infection or even conjunctivitis. After suffering from this disease, there will be redness and bubbles on both sides of the lips, and further there will be erosion and pus discharge. After these phenomena occur, it will affect the human body's eating and drinking. There will be a sense of obstruction when opening the mouth, and the throat will feel dry and itchy. The following is an introduction to its treatment.

Treatment:

1. Do not use fluoride toothpaste. When you use this type of toothpaste to brush your teeth, the foam will touch your lips and there will be a slight tingling sensation, which may be due to the irritation. It is recommended to use toothpaste for babies and young children, all of which are edible formulas, natural and non-irritating, and come in strawberry flavor.

2. Don’t lick your lips with your tongue. There are many bacteria of various types in the human mouth. If the inflamed lips come into contact with saliva, it will make the situation even worse.

3. Soak your lips in warm, lightly salt water. There will be a slight tingling sensation at the beginning, but after a few times, you won’t feel anything. My lips also became smooth, and there was no flaking even without applying lipstick. They were just a little dry, and had some tiny white flakes. I was excited for a long time. But the good times didn't last long, and within two days it returned to its original state.

4. Do not tear off the curled skin with your hands, wait for it to fall off by itself. If you tear it off with your hands, it is easy to damage the dermis, the inflammation will not be relieved, and it will cause more serious symptoms.

5. Apply honey to moisturize your lips. This method is very effective for treating the symptoms. Lips coated with honey will remain shiny for half a day, just like applying a layer of colorless lip gloss. But I personally feel that the sugars in honey will aggravate inflammation, so don’t use this method unless it’s absolutely necessary. If you have to attend an important party or event, you can use it as an emergency measure so that you won’t be unable to see people. Make sure to buy honey from a trustworthy brand. I think I used wolfberry honey at the time.

6. Take vitamin B complex tablets. This is essential for maintaining the health of skin and mucous membranes, so be sure to take them regularly. Don't be too eager to eliminate inflammation and take excessive doses, as that will only burden your body. There should be a lot of choices of vitamin B tablets. They only cost a few yuan a bottle in large pharmacies. You can also buy better ones. I feel safer taking them that way since they are food after all.

7. Apply a fragrance-free, pigment-free, non-irritating moisturizing lipstick. This method is basically ineffective in winter. White skin will appear soon after application. It may be because winter is too dry. But it is still very effective in spring, summer and autumn. As long as you use it regularly, there will be no white skin that affects your appearance. But don't use too much, no more than 2 times a day. The first lipstick I used was made in France. It has a very moisturizing effect, but it’s a bit expensive, otherwise I would have used it all the time. Later I changed to a Mentholatum product. I don’t know if there is an identical one in China. It has anti-inflammatory function, is non-irritating, very moisturizing and cheap. After using it for a while, the red circle around my lips disappeared and I no longer feel itchy. However, if I don’t apply it, peeling will still occur.

8. Apply erythromycin ointment. Wow, it’s not that there is no way to use it, but it’s best not to use it. Not to mention the strong smell, if you apply it on your lips, some of it will definitely get into your mouth, which I think is horrible. Since this ointment is very greasy, you won't see any white skin after applying it on your mouth, but it has little therapeutic effect. I applied half of it and didn't see any signs of improvement.

9. Apply medicine for cheilitis and angular cheilitis
