What to do if your nose is burned

What to do if your nose is burned

If you don't pay attention in your daily life and get a nose burn, you should seek timely treatment, especially for some children. If parents do not take good care of them, they may be scalded by boiling water or steam. At this time, you should receive timely treatment, such as repeatedly flushing the wound, going to the hospital for corresponding treatment in time, etc., to avoid leaving scars and prevent infection. Let's take a look at this aspect.

What to do if your nose is burned

1. Rinse the wound with tap water. Whether it is a scald caused by boiling water or steam, you should first lower the temperature of the scalded skin to reduce further damage to the scalded area. At the same time, flushing with water can also reduce pain. If the wound is not broken, soak it for about 10 minutes. If the wound has broken, do not soak it again to avoid infection. If the burn area is too large, soak the entire body in the bathtub. You can also use a towel dipped in water to apply to areas that cannot be washed with water.

2. If the scalded area is covered with clothes, do not rush to take off the clothes after the scald. Use cold water to cool the scalded area first, and then take off the clothes carefully to avoid tearing the blisters.

3. Deal with blisters correctly. If there are blisters on the burn site, whether to break them should be analyzed based on the specific situation. Generally, do not break them to avoid leaving scars. However, sometimes if the blisters are large or located at joints that are more easily broken, they need to be punctured with a sterilized needle. If the blisters have already broken, use a sterilized cotton swab to wipe off the liquid flowing out from around the blisters.

4. Bandage with gauze. Apply some ointment on the burn first, then bandage with clean gauze. Untie the gauze after two days and check the wound. If there is improvement, continue to apply some ointment and then bandage again. Generally, burns can heal within two weeks, but if the wound is found to be infected, you should seek medical treatment immediately.

5. Try not to expose burns to the sun, try not to come into contact with water after bandaging, and do not exercise excessively to prevent the wound from rubbing against the gauze and damaging it, which will increase the healing time of the wound.

6. How to deal with third-degree burns: When the burn is too severe and reaches third-degree burns, it should be covered or exposed with clean gauze first, and then quickly sent to the hospital for medical treatment. Do not apply medicine on the wound.

What to eat when you have burns

1. Patients in the later stages of burns should eat more high-calorie, high-protein, high-quality, small-volume, easy-to-digest and absorb foods, including eggs, fish, meat, etc.

2. It is advisable to eat more high-protein foods, especially drink more liquid and easily absorbed foods such as crucian carp soup, black fish soup, milk, etc., which are beneficial to the growth of wound cells and accelerate healing.

3. Burn patients should eat more foods high in zinc, such as oysters, herring, shrimp skin, seaweed, fish meal, sesame, peanuts, pork liver, beans, etc., which can effectively avoid wound infection, promote wound healing, avoid the appearance of scars, and prevent the continued proliferation of scars.

4. Eating pig's feet (pig's trotters) and pig skin after burns can help the skin recover better. These foods are rich in collagen, which is beneficial for skin repair.
