What are the side effects of sodium tablets

Sodium tablets are the common name, and their scientific name is loxoprofen sodium tablets. Some people may not be familiar with this sodium tablet and don’t know what diseases it can treat. Sodium tablets are mainly used for anti-inflammatory and analgesic purposes, and the effect is relatively good. At the same time, they also have a certain effect on improving bone strength. Since drugs can cause certain negative effects on the body while treating physical diseases, the following is an introduction to the side effects of sodium tablets.

1. Side Effects

Sodium tablets break down into sodium carbonate, water and carbon dioxide in the human body. Water is harmless to the human body, and carbon dioxide will not cause much damage to the stomach unless it is in large quantities. However, if taken for a long time, metabolic alkali poisoning and massive sodium retention (causing hypokalemia) may occur due to sodium carbonate, which is not good for patients with heart and kidney dysfunction. It will also affect the secretion of gastric acid.

2. Side Effect 2

When taken orally, a large amount of carbon dioxide gas is produced in the stomach, causing gastrointestinal inflation, abdominal distension and pain, and patients are prone to dyspnea. Anorexia may occur, and it may even lead to ulcer perforation or new ulcers. Elderly people and patients with upper digestive tract should use with caution.

3. Side Effect 3

Long-term use may cause metabolic alkali poisoning and sodium retention (causing hypokalemia), which is not good for patients with impaired heart and kidney function.

4. Side Effect 4

Long-term use may cause frequent urination, urgent urination, persistent headache, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, abnormal fatigue and weakness, etc.

5. Side Effects

Gastrointestinal bleeding and perforation may occur. If upper abdominal pain or abdominal pain occurs, the drug should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be taken.

6. Side Effect 6

Acute renal insufficiency, nephrotic syndrome, and interstitial nephritis may occur, so careful observation should be made. If abnormalities occur, the drug should be discontinued and appropriate treatment should be given.
